Swap Coppershroom and Arcane salt in tiershttps://forum.arcaneodyssey.dev/uploads/default/optimized/3X/0/8/083ee8c5273fbf547e8c25b8c6c01b8a2c4c6e2e_2_1024x338.png
Curretnly Coppershrooms are the best gem secondary effects. And if you know the method, its pretty easy for farm them.
But wait, how come is that lower tier item is harder to get than higher? Huh…
Makee Coppershroom into Decent Energizer giver, and make Arcane Salt High qualtiy. All gems with 3.5% - 5% energy regen will still remain as is, jsut the new one will have to be made using Arcane Salt
Why
Reason #1
Coppershrooms are just easier to get. Tell me whatever you want, but there are more coppershrooms than arcane salt in circulation. Most people dont even know how to get arcane salt!
Reason #2
It makes sense from lore perspective that very same salt that is used to make arcanium is less affective at increasing magic regeneration than some funni sky mushroom.
From a design perspective, yes this probably makes more sense. Alternatively, from the same lore perspective, coppershrooms would likely be struck by lightning a whole lot due to being quite the conductive metal, and being quite high up, likely carrying a lot of energy inside them.
Potion ingredients can be hilariously unbalanced, with tier 2s being far easier to come across then tier 1s. Another example is clearsight. Glass pearls a beach item- unreliablye to gain, and yet clearstone can be easily farmed from Orthys.
No, I just think that the primary difference between T1 and T2 reagents should be that you can get alot of T1 reagents of different types just going around while you have to go out of your way to get T2 reagents but they’re easier to find when you do.
Think about it like Sun Caraway in cooking, if you don’t look for it, you’re never going to find it.
On beaches you can find glass pearls, hoarfrost conches, every tier of drinkable catalyst, seaweed, and probably other things I’m forgetting.
To get clearstone you have to go all the way to mount Orthys during the day and break rocks.
To get coppershrooms you have to climb either the jaws or the stepstones.
To get thunder crystals you have to find a stormy area in the sea and swim around.
Each of these T2s require you to do something specific.
The only major exception to this is all the stuff found in diving spots, there’s already so many T2 reagents down there, why should the energy T2 ALSO be down there?
I expect the dark sea to also be an exception to all this because its the dark sea and it should be an exception to all this.
Sure, they’re abundant in their environments, but they should be because of how separated they are from other things.
I completely agree with this, the issue is more so that arcane salt is separated from other things, since you have to destroy rocks repeatedly while diving, I’d suggest arcane salt getting a better drop rate
Coal could also get a higher drop rate. While not as annoying to get in bulk as arcane salt (I have literally never had arcane salt in my inventory) it is still painfully slow for a teir 1 reagant
