How’s the game vs LOOMAIN LEGASSY: DELAY OF SHADOWS ?

I haven’t even gotten to the first stadium, but the major issue is already prevalent: ToT is slower than a dead deer. Entering a wild battle? About 7 seconds. Throwing a Tanorian out? 3. Using a Tanocan? About 3 seconds to throw, 12 seconds to watch the tanocan twist, and then MAYBE catch the thing. You also can’t change the dialogue speed. Skipping through it isn’t there if the character you’re talking to is voiced, which is agonizing, and leads to stupid moments like when Kira has a long pause at the end of her sentence, then sighing before you can get to the next string of text. Of course, turning off the voice acting in the settings lets you skip it, which brings up the question of WHY?! Voice acting is something the game used as a bit of a golden goose, so WHY is disabling it the only way to fix a small part of the game’s bigger problem?!

Battles are bogged down by how the UI works. If a Tanorian’s ability activates and lowers/raises a stat, you have to wait for the effects to finish before the game takes 2 seconds out of your life’s paycheck to display the ability name. Additionally, while not huge time losses (probably around 0.75 seconds each?), going through the menus in battle or the TAB menu all feel really sluggish. In LL (yes, I’m about to compliment Loomian Legacy: Delays of Shadows) or Doodle World, everything is quick and snappy. In ToT, I feel like I’m going back to the nursing home visits my classes in elementary school would do.

The weirdest thing about it all is that the ONE fast thing in the game, the pre-battle/post-battle dialogue, ends up being TOO fast. I read fairly quickly, and even I couldn’t finish reading most of the dialogue. Oh, and you don’t click to skip it, it just goes automatically.

I’ve sunk about two or three hours into the game btw.

tl;dr Just play LL or Doodle World, they don’t actively try to waste your time in just menus.

edit because i forgor: There’s also a lore dump that takes, what, 3-5 minutes just listening to? The devs also decided to make the camera jump ship from mural to mural between texts, which just wastes MORE time. I swear, they want Premium Playtime payouts more than anything.

Thanks for the writeup, I’ll probably give it half an hour and then quit
