Suggestion 1
A feature that would involve bands playing within different taverns throughout the major islands. (Sailors Lodge, Redwake, etc) The bands could be paid galleons to switch songs and while inside the tavern as the band plays you receive a certain benefit or positive effect. Furthermore, helps with the immersion in these taverns because they really don’t feel that much different to other locations within the game, adds a little uniqueness to these sites. This could later be used down the line when player building gets added and the bands could be a placeable object that could play music for the players.

Suggestion 2
Revamp of the ship repair mechanic. Repairing ships right now is largely based on the amount of galleons you have and to newer players this is taxing because making money at the start of the game is a difficult endeavor. I propose a system similar to the old MMO POTCO (Pirates of the Caribbean Online) where ship repair worked like various minigames that the player had a certain amount of time to complete. (Seen in the screenshots attached.) Obviously these could be toned down to be less difficult and faster, and the end result would be that galleons wouldn’t be the requirement in ship repair but rather completing the minigames.

I dont care what anyone else thinks, I like this. I think AO is a little lacking at times in immersion.

Also, no one in this goddamn community ever thinks about level 124 and below. Glad you thought of the little guys here.

I like the tavern ideas (mainly because I really want the instrument weapons and this is the closest we are going to get), but I’m not a big fan of the ship repair idea, I’d rather just pay galleons instead of standing still playing a mini game with a chance of being hunted.

i see nothing wrong with the first suggestion. but money grind isnt hard, even for newer players. ship repair is fine just the way it is

At least at the start of the game when your a low level getting up there in galleons is obviously a chore, I can’t count the amount of times a new player has asked me to ferry them around the map because they don’t have the money to repair their ship. I’m fine with it taking money to repair at shipwrights thats accurate but out on the open sea why should repairing even drain galleons in the first place?

Another idea: Make the speed of which you’re able to repair ships be based on how tanky or big the ship itself is,

A sailboat should be easier to fix than a Brig.

like i said, money grind shouldnt even be hard for newer players, especially when you can fish and open chests for items to sell. if someone is asking you for a ride on your ship, it means theyre too stupid to spawn in their own rowboat or farm galleons on their island, reset and repair. also who cares if you spend money in the middle of the sea to repair your boat, immersion doesnt need to be that deep

Like band don’t really like the repair rework

I, too, think about the game’s immersive potential

The second suggestions reminds me of those Pirates101 or Wizards101 minigames. Would add some great variety to the things you can do in-game.

Overall, I respect your creative problem solving, and I think you and I have similar trains of thought in regards to what we want out of this game.
