Tell me a bit about your OCs and I'll tell you how they fight

i hadnt ever considered him using wave magic to control his aether magic, thats a very nice spin on a chaotic magic like aether

and i suppose there is also the element of him sometimes opting to not restrain the great power of aether magic, for instances where he is tasked with obliterating something and leaving no remains. hugo is gonna love this

I’m so glad I did something cool! I need a bit to give some thought to everyone else’s submissions, so I might be a while. But I’ll try to do everyone.

Guess I’ll put my hat in the ring

Ahamed Cante
Knight, weapon-leaning

Predominantly utilizes an iron trident in combat while keeping a flintlock on himself for dispatching weaker foes (or sea life.) While he does possess a spirit weapon (eagle patrimony) he only uses it as an additional conduit to channel his spirit through when imbuing. He prioritizes a good balance of defensive capability (defense) and limb maneuverability (a.speed) when deciding on clothing.

While he is merciless in nature, he does still help any castaways that he finds along his travels. Although he is completely willing to risk the lives of both his crew and any castaways he rescues if it means success

Felix Gates

Neutron Magic, Calamity Magic, Blaze Magic (under certain circumstances)

He’s the leader of a “Revolutionary” (Terrorist) group known as the Blades of Solstice, who hold the main goal of causing the dissolution of kingdoms across the War Seas. As such, he’s no stranger to bloodshed - he was an Assassin for years before forming them, after all. However, he usually tries to minimize casualties. Due to his Calamity Magic (Essentially a mutation of Explosion and Magma, inspired by geological disasters), whenever he uses it, there’s a good chance it’ll harm someone he doesn’t intend it to.

Every time this happens, a bit more guilt grows on him. Occasionally it becomes to much - instead of working through it in a healthy manner, he isolates himself and, after whatever happens behind those doors (usually some manner of self-harm with Calamity Magic, which can harm its user due to the unstable nature of it), he comes out like nothing happened.

Outside of the occasional breakdown, he puts on a calm and pleasant demeanor - going out of his way to help people if they need it and it won’t impact his schedule too much. These are but traits inherited from the soul of a mage, who forced their own soul into his body. While this gave him nearly constant access to one of the most knowledgeable sources for magic, it also enforced elements of the mage onto his own soul, as they began to overlap on the edges. Possessing two souls also allows for him to occasionally relinquish control to the other - usually in times of great desperation or when he wouldn’t be able to properly function in his role.
During these switches, Gates’ body is able to utilize Blaze Magic instead of his original Neutron Magic, as the first magic is engrained upon the soul instead of the body. The other soul is vastly more experienced in combat, however is generally reluctant to take control in the first place, seeing it as just another way for Gates to cheat death.

Miles Lace

Crystal Magic (Ruby), Weapons Expertise, Illusion Blessing

A renowned bounty hunter, originally known for his hasty rise to riches, but now known as the wielder of the Illusion Blessing. He was once had what felt like everything - a crew, a brig, some of the best skills he knew of. Hunts could be challenging, but they always ended in victory with no major injuries. He cut down whatever criminals he chased instead of turning them in, for there was no chance of them escaping and the Gravy paid the same.

His illusion of power was shattered when he failed his first hunt. Horribly. The criminal he hunted slaughtered his crew when they aided him, all while he was too far to help. Enraged, he tried to kill the criminal - only to be swiftly disarmed and pinned. The criminal took his eye and left him there, sailing off in their own ship. Ego shattered and down an eye, it took him weeks to get back into hunting. He only targeted the lowest bounties, needing something to make himself feel just a bit above the lowest.

During one such hunt, he encountered the Illusion Blessing. This Blessing allows the user to send out wisps of nearly impercievable spirit energy, which upon contact with a being capable of higher thought, dig into the nervous system and shoot themselves into the brain alongside the pain signal sent from the impact of the energy. Once in the mind, the user has complete control over the victim’s senses - being able to shape their reality however they see fit.

While the thoughts of the victim are unaffected, all five senses will register the illusion as reality. However, the illusion cannot affect one’s sensing ability, so magical signatures will still be received. Additionally, the more victims of the blessing, the more focus it takes to maintain the illusions.

This newfound power cast a spell over him, making him feel just as powerful as the day before he lost so much. While his pride never fully healed, he still began hunting bigger and better bounties - cutting them down and growing his own power. At times, he can be found drinking in bars, keeping his mask on whenever he can. If one can get past his arrogance and boasting, he could be a decent person to converse with. Just don’t say anything that could hurt his pride - he usually lashes out at those who do, either verbally or physically.

While he could purchase new weapons with his riches, he prefers to conjure them out of Ruby - mimicking the skills of weapons with his own magic, alongside whatever spells he may seek to cast. This is both a cost-cutting measure and a method of not being reliant on anything he doesn’t carry with him.

  1. Silas Storm.

  2. Savant (Magic and Spirit dominate over other stats. Strength and Weapons are ± equal)

  3. Mentality:
    In general: Merciful; Chaotic Good.
    In battle: Chaotic Evil.
Speaks rarely and not more than they should. They like balance and order. Tries to be always calm, which sometimes leads to misunderstandings as some may think that they are careless. Despite this, they still show empathy which may or may not kill them someday.

  4. Loadout:
    Lightning magic infused with EP;
    Eagle Patrimony infused with Lightning magic;
    Sunken Sword infused with both or EP;
Sailor Style infused with both or EP.

  5. Loadout in case, if imagination is allowed:
Everything the same, but instead of Lightning Magic use Infernal Storm. In this case it is used for all possible imbuements.

Infernal Storm is a combination of the Inferno Fire and Storm magics. Described by sailors as a power capable of setting water on fire, thus creating beautiful and terrifying plains of burning ocean, tornados, rainstorms and lightnings. Has extremely high damage against ships & sea monsters, and easily boils anyone, who was unlucky to fall off the ship. On the land its stats are in perfect balance.

  1. Stat investment:
Power; Speed; Attack Size; Little Defence.

  2. Drip (I am writing this one for fun):
They wore a common dark grey, midnight or black longsleeve shirt with pants and boots (due to the inaccessibility of colourful clothes during those times). A cape with the hood of the same colour to prevent being recognized due to the events of the main storyline. And most notably, later in the story - A pair of pauldrons, bracers and leg protection summoned with their own spirit energy. Eventually they will be described as a “Dark figure with the shinning, emitting light and hope armor”.

Abel Calding, the Lost Judgment

Magma Magic, on the verge of mutating into an unknown magma mutation.
Wields a Tempered Ember Staff and (enchantless) Eagle Patrimony.
Ruthless Good
Utterly ruthless to the misaligned and the evil. He does not coldly treat crew and castaways, but the latter is intimidated (alongside most townspeople).
Does not really exist in-game, but his armor is Arcanium AND enchanted with Spirit. Cracks appear along it, dripping lava from unknown sources.
Fights incredibly aggressive, overwhelming villains with sheer firepower.

Ace Salore, Legacy of Hecate

Mastered Plasma Plasma Magic, Poison Magic, Blue Pulsar Magic
Pulsar Magic refers to an incredibly destructive and white-ish explosive magic, resembling neutron stars with two rays shooting parallel; these are Pulsars.
Merciful Good
Always willing to help for the greater good, but has her personal goals to extend the use of magic amongst the War Seas.
Wise usage of her magic. Knows on a quick basis to use what magic and what abilities, and never underestimates a target. Spells are fast and accurate; she never misses most low-size blasts.

Mark Henriksson, The Veiling Sword

Teal Lightning Magic mutated into Storm Magic
Wields an Arcanium Greatsword (Dense) and Arcanium Sabre (Ardent). All firearms wielded by him are Tempered.
Merciful Good
Compassionate amongst his peers, not very open to the common who know him for his Fame. The meek out of all 3.
Incredibly fast and large skills, with many tornado-like moves being massive and appearing at fast rates. Usually uses Sword Draws into large slashing abilities.

She’s an attrition fighter. Unlikely to land a Fire spell directly unless she wants you dead. Instead, she uses her Fire Magic to fill the air with sweltering heat, gradually wearing down her opponents. Before long, they’re a sweaty, clumsy mess. The almost-hypnotic swirling of her bright flames only adds to this disorienting effect.

Once they’re dizzy and tired out, she finishes the job with a couple quick and easy blows of Basic Combat. It isn’t unintentional that she sticks to using “simplistic” powers. It’s an effort to conserve her energy, allowing her to outlast most mages and continue battling for hours on end. Almost paradoxically minimalistic for a savant, she does no more than what she must.

Her gun is a reflection of this. Just a pull of the trigger… Doesn’t get any easier than that. Simple, effective. It’s also very intimidating, which helps her make peace in the many cases that she doesn’t want to kill.

She wields her shortsword with a swift, defensive style. Yes, in most cases it takes less energy to dodge an attack than to counter it, but sometimes she has to protect people who wouldn’t be able to get out of the way in time. Thus, she specializes in using her sword to cut clean through magical attacks. It’s also great against Berserkers! Nothing keeps them away like the threat of getting a hand chopped off.

Ever since getting amnesia, she’s had a penchant for failsafes and backups. You never know what you might lose at any given moment, after all. Attaching a blade to her revolver is one such backup, should anything happen to her sword. It also improves versatility and makes her even more of a threat in close quarters.

Her hands are rarely free, so when she uses Basic Combat she tends to throw more kicks than punches. She’s pretty fast at it and knows how to make an impression with her “warning shots.”

He can cover himself in sand to make his bulky, intimidating frame even bigger and scarier. I imagine he would also make use of Gel-type potions. He kept a lot of the reagents he found in the Dark Sea, allowing him to harness potion effects unknown to this world. The wetness also helps his Sand constructs hold their shape.

May I suggest grafting sea monster teeth onto his greataxe? For example, scald teeth could heat his Sand attacks into glass, shredding his foes.

With his great strength, his axe swings could send huge sandstorms and tornadoes. His Sand Magic opens up a lot of potential for sleight of hand in general. When no one’s looking, he could swap out his greataxe for a fake one made of pure sand, and when you least expect it, the real weapon (levitating thanks to the sand it’s covered in) comes out of the storm and strikes.

Sorry for not adding much this time, what you had already felt pretty great and complete.

So they aren’t much of a fighter, but they care a lot about appearing talented to other people? Interesting.

How about they specialize in conjuring incredibly polished stone with their Earth Magic? Stone so smooth it almost looks like crystal. A talent like that would definitely impress people, and while it’s definitely not combat-oriented, it’s not strictly useless for it either.

He could set up walls of polished stone for defense, and bounce Light spells off of their reflective surfaces, creating incredibly intricate and mesmerizing attacks. His Light Magic isn’t very bright on its own, possibly an extension of his timidity… But when properly harnessed, its blinding gleam puts most any Light mage to shame.

That’s how they would usually try to fight… But when it just isn’t working, they stop attacking with Light and go ham with Earth, sending out huge boulders one after another. Turns out, his Earth Magic isn’t so polished on the inside… When it breaks apart, its messy heart is revealed.

Fine cuisine indeed

Now I’m totally invested In James being a monster hunter, I’m gonna we’re animal skins in full release

Also one final thing

Thank you:)

ACH I forgot to incorporate something relevant to the monster-hunting bit :sob:
Oh well

oh shit thats my oc, i like this idea

one of the reasons why he was an aether magic user was because he was a soldier for the thorne-ravenna war

he was a living weapon that only knew how to kill, which ended up causing issues between him and his son, and even to the rest of his family, so i really like this.

Using wave magic to nerf himself is a pretty good idea because i only ever thought of him using it to nerf others.

But him nerfing himself could have issues with leonard which is perfect.

Allow me to introduce Hamilton’s Son

Henry 39 years old, he isnt really a warrior as he doesn’t really like fighting due to his experience with his father, where training caused him his nose scar, but because of his dad’s power he gets his raw potential.

He is a Light/Time Magic savant.

Silvy uses a Mattock that was Enchanted to be linked to him, it will always return to him no matter how far it is in the world, Sorta like Mljonir, He also uses Dual Revolvers that his late mom used, he kept them to remember her, he uses magic to reload the bullets as its easier that way, and He Uses a sunken sword that he found while fishing around.

He got Moonlight magic as to match with Nova Lionheardt his best friend, who had Sunlight Magic, while he got Time magic due to a Dark Sea expedition in the far reaches, and a chance encounter with a ritual that he didnt realise was still active and read, which activated and transfered it to him, briefly giving him a vision of Chronos.

Time magic works like any normal magic, you can use a blast to slow someone down, you can use it to speed them up, explosions, beams, etc its skill based, Auras allow him to speed himself up, slow himself up, slow anything that tries to touch his aura down, and probably his main use for the aura, Foresight, it allows him to see attacks coming at him before they can ever land, this only allows him to see things that happen to himself however, he cannot foresee if an ally will be hit or attacked.

The main drawback of this magic is that it has well Drawback, it takes away part of his hp, if he was able to train with it when he had it for 5 years maybe he’d be able to use it effectively, but as of right now the most he can do is use a sustained beam for 60 seconds, an aura for 80 seconds, and atleast 20 to 40 blasts, explosions, etc before he dies or passes out.

He has stopped a legendary class atlantean with time after the ritual to save his crew and escape successfully.

He also just uses a basic fighting style, one of Silvy’s main tactics is to use potions in fights, he mainly uses Iron skin 5, as he grows alot of golden apples, iron skin 5 makes him fully metal and invulnerable to everything for awhile, occasionally he uses power potions too, he also uses gels like healing gels to help teamates, or harming gels to for additional damage.

He doesn’t really train however, he is a naval ship admiral of his clan that basically does dark sea expeditions, his ship has won a fight between 20 atlantean brigs once (yes that happened ingame) so hes a formidable Naval commander.

Due to his dark sea expedition job he does however have to fight Atlanteans and Sirens, hence why despite the lack of training his current strength is akin to that of General Julian, because of the fights the raw potential grew.

He is a sloppy fighter, But his raw attack size that can cover a 1/3rd of Menura garden’s Arena, and his speed with light is probably why he doesn’t really attempt to be too skillful, and he doesn’t want to be like his father either.

for his mattock/pickaxe i do have skillnotes for em

Knocking Clash
Attack similar to Raging impact, but more aoe and knockback based, and deals 40% less damage than Raging Impact

Volatile Crash
Similar to Devestate but is a throwable move instead, its designed to break things, but can be devestating as an attack.

Ultimate Art: Prehistoric Pursuit

Throwing the mattock brings the shape of a Spinosaurus head, and homes at you, once it hits the target it makes a large explosion, its a finisher move.

But thats pretty much it for his shit, feel free to explain how you think he fights, or if i already covered it myself i can use a different oc because im not sure how she fights anyway.
