Pretty much another short suggestion too and this time it’s about the boss areas. Considering there’s not much to do in the game, I decided to try out all the bosses in the game once again and I only had one issue with all of them and that’s the destruction in the boss areas. I checked some stuff ( like vetcord etc. ) and found out that I’m not the only one who found out about this issue.
It’s been two updates now and so far vetex hasn’t done anything about them and the reason was that vetex said players should learn awareness on their surroundings but to be fair, it becomes an annoyance when the terrain is regenerating considering it forces you into a spot for about 3 seconds or so until the terrain regenerates, giving you situations where you could’ve survived but didn’t.
Found out that a lot of players have said that vetex should disable terrain destruction in boss areas and vetex’s response to this was as said previously, “Learn awareness on your surroundings”, but that doesn’t really fix the problem considering even if you’re aware that the terrain is about to regenerate, you’re being forced to a spot where there’s a ton of risks to take damage. Sure you can just block or parry but that’s assuming 100% of the playerbase can perfectly do that so here’s my idea:
Terrain Regeneration Requirement
- If terrain has been destroyed outside the boss area, it will only regenerate if there is no nearby players that have been combat tagged. The range should be about the same as Dawn Island, this way, players are able to feel the gravity of the situation. This would also give a feeling of the destruction that war has brought upon the server if it did happen.
-
If there’s a combat tagged player within the range, the countdown to regeneration will pause and would only start counting down again once the combat tagged player is outside the range.
-
If terrain has been destroyed inside the boss area, then it will only regenerate if the boss dies or resets. It will now ignore the countdown and would only start the process of regeneration once what was said in the first sentence happened.
-
Necessary boss area terrains will ignore the requirement in the paragraph above this, for example, Elius’ pillars. The reason for this is because it is part of the boss’ gimmick.
