So I’m curious about the different responsibilities that the two roles have. As well as how they’re responsibilities pertain to the other aspects of the community so like would game moderators also be discord moderators or vice versa. I’m mainly just curious but also wondering about these things in case tester or moderator applications ever open up again as I would love to help the game in some way!
testers just test
game moderators do the moderation for ingame offenses. don’t necessarily have to be testers, but some are
Yeah I was mainly just asking because I was talking to a mod today and was asking him if he had access to the test universe and stuff and he said no so I was just curious if it was like this for all mods or not
- Discord moderators moderate the community and make sure people are being civil in Vetcord. They deal with reports under the ‘discord support’ ticket category in vetcord.
- Game moderators moderate the game and ensure people don’t break the rules, they have access to a variety of tools which let them deal with exploiters easier, some of them also have permissions to restore items lost due to bugs. They deal with tickets under the ‘player report’ and ‘game ban appeal’ ticket category in vetcord and those with restore capabilities will deal with items lost due to bugs.
- Testers deal with the vast majority of bug reports, they have access to the Test Universe, and their job is to test the game and quality/provide feedback. Many of them also contribute to the game in other ways but that isn’t necessarily part of the role.
- The ‘Friend’ role in vetcord is similar to testers, and many of them also have access to the Test Universe, but they aren’t there to formally test the game.
waffle
Thank you that clears everything up : )
Rule n°1 of testing: never listen to tester feedback.
To clarify, this is how it usually is in the industry.

Now if you’ll excuse me it’s 00:15 so I should really be resting my noggin
