Okay lemme break it down for you, sure it was somewhat upsetting even annoying to know Morden did not kill Julian’s a- instead just prob injured him but nonetheless
Despite MC/player having little to know of their past and we can only like what get bits through the lore + Morden’s journal and his words, that what happened was definitely traumatic and had definitely given him PTSD.
Plus in my own personal headcanon dude definitely has some survivor guilt in there that also a factor with the whole he doesn’t wanna to kill people

Generally I don’t like Morden but I do support him being really buff. The weight of carrying the death curse does infact bulk a man up.
