i just reread the lore doc and its actually so much worse, 3 of the seven seas got completely wiped from existence essentially, including the AG hq so there was no more government but thats actually the LEAST of their worries, the other 4 seas would have taken insane damage from the shockwave and resulting earthquakes and weather as a result of what was essentially the fracture 2.0
And to add insult to injury, chaos was attracted to the cataclysmic event and completely ravaged what was left… there are no more seven seas anymore
makes you wonder whether beating durza really was for the greater good
weapons and strength literally USE magic in the form of aura (which is considered weaker for some reason which I find totally bullshit but whatever)
why are they weaker??? (well weapons are kind of weird so I’ll just assume they’re on par with everything else, after all this argument is about strength)
strength users can literally turn parts of their body into iron, control kinetic force with extreme speed and agility, project off their aura in the forms of all sorts of attacks not to differently from mages, to me it seems absolutely ridiculous that they’d be weaker in a world where people can drink seawater to create nuclear bomb sized attacks, or are able to presumably drain the life force of others somehow, no idea how that works but that doesn’t sound like something regular martial arts can do irl.
ngl this sounds really lame compared to literally being able to smash apart stone with your body lmfao
strength users do seem to have perks too, such as being able to resist limb loss, and escape whirlpools a lot easier, I just find it absurd how much the AU lowballs strength users when they clearly are capable of doing feats that aren’t at all normal, much like mages and weapon/spirit users.
Unfortunately this is another case of S tier Vetex writing and I suppose unless ancient fighting styles shake things up a lot then we’re sorta stuck with this kind of redundant pecking order.
-they can control similar elements
-they are derived from basically the same source (chaos I assume)
-have almost identical UI when it comes to spell/skill creation
ao’s entire power system is based on you either being born strong or getting lucky and it kind of sucks, every strong character feels like a fraud compared to someone who spent years building their body or training with weapons
theres a reason argos is depicted as a gigachad by the community and people like morden are treated like frauds
