Gotta say the coolest AO moments is randomly encountering a player of opposite renown and have a little stand-off or whatever, because you dont know if either of you are there to kill each other for their bounty, but you end up helping each other out instead.
Just now I was looking for the location of a secret in an island and this guy took me to it, only for me to get a message 15mins later saying he was shipwrecked in the ocean with a mystic chart, so I took him to the island location.
The uncertainty of whether or not you could trust someone definetely made connenctions and companions more valuable in the pre-PvP toggle days, but honestly I’ve had my fill of it
I don’t miss the anxiety of leaving the Dark Sea with a hoard of chests and a half-wrecked ship
Keep it off, it acts as a kid filter. I noticed that the people i talk to have better speech, or writing I guess, than pre toggle. Makes the world feel more alive
It’s too early for me to make solid conclusions but you may be somewhat right on the first part. I’ve noticed a lot of people with pvp off have been in the younger crowd, but I also see a stark contrast. People with pvp off seem to either be an oblivious twelve year old who toggled the setting out of fear, or someone much more mature just looking to enjoy the game as it is, and be able to approach everyone to make connections without risk.
Good for you, but I don’t think the devs have a form where they keep track of how many times you’ve been a jerk to PvE players and force your PvP off if you don’t hit a quota
Can’t we just respect each other’s playstyles as long as they don’t get in each other’s way ffs?
The PvP toggle has been terrible for my gameplay. I got on my acid/glass mage, and found that I couldn’t turn anyone green! This is a tragedy and a mistake of a feature.
