Somewhere in the Bronze Sea
A young and rebellious young man named Captain Carver was sailing across the sea with his friends and his trusted quartermaster, Holly Grayson, all of whom he knew since their youth. These foolish young men and women were on board a Caravel they all purchased together with their money and collective named it and their pirate group “The Brave Buccaneers”
These pirates when from young make believers to legitimate threats of the sea, mercilessly attacking merchant vessels who bore treasures for them to steal and Grand Navy ships who got in their way, with a little extra treasure to the side.
These young adults spent three to four years of their adulthood rising up the pirate ranks, learning new skills over the course of their journey together and striking fear into the hearts of sailors, their youthful vigor made them believe they were invincible. But truth be told… they weren’t.
One day, Captain Carver was sailing to Whitesummit, against the advise of Holly Grayson, who tried to convince the pirate captain to turn their Caravel to the Forest of Cernunno instead, but the Captain Carver failed to listen, for he and their crew wanted to rest and recuperate in Blackwater Grotto, much to Holly’s chagrin.
As the crew counted the treasures and sealed chests they got from their previous battles, they were suddenly thrown off their feet by another Caravel. Captain Carver and Holly turned their head to see a young woman, who looked younger than them, manning the wheel.
Holly didn’t have to put two and two together to see that the woman in the yellow jacket was the captain, and beside her looked to be muscular individual with a cutlass and a few pistols, presumably the young captain’s quartermaster.
“Holly, cannons!”
Captain Carver yelled as he tried to steer his vessel away from the young captain’s line of fire.
“Erica, Gabe, Matt, load and fire, quick!”
The three pirates on the port side of The Brave Buccaneers ship hastily loaded their cannons and attempted to fire at the ship, but the young captain, with assistance from her deckhand, steered her Caravel to the port before her sailors quickly release the sails, sailing away from the pirate ship’s line of fire and narrowly avoiding the cannonballs.
The naval battle went on for a long while now, the crews on both ships frantically released and raised the sails, fired cannons at each other, and braced themselves for ramming. Unfortunately for The Brave Buccaneers, their ship took a lot of damage and was no longer able to sail, stranding them in the middle of an ocean with nothing but the young captain’s ship circling them like a shark’s fin on the surface.
“Is everyone alright??”
Carver got up from the floor and saw his crew, trying to recover from The Brave Buccaneers’ defeat
“What now, captain??? We’re stranded and that captain and her crew could board our ship at any given time! I told you we should have went to Cernunno’s island when we had the chance!!”
Holly was furious, she was always made fun of for being overdramatic, but her worst fears have come true, they were defeated.
“Everyone, stand your ground! We’ll teach this girl a lesson and take her ship off her hands!”
Captain Carver refuses to give up, he draws his two swords and raises them up in the air
“For who are we?!”
“The Brave Buccaneers!”
“Who are we?!?”
“THE BRAVE BUCCANEERS!”
The crew prepare their guns, swords, and martial arts. Holly sighed, she wanted to believe The Brave Buccaneers would triumph this battle, but deep within, she felt a moral boost won’t be enough to turn the tides, but she didn’t want her doubts and worries to drag her close friends down, so she swallowed those negative feelings and prepared her Swamp Water magic as two little magic circles form in her hands with the Water symbol.
The Brave Buccaneers waited for the young captain to come with her crew so they could battle them, upon the arrival of the girl’s Caravel stopping right beside their ship, she quickly jumps high in the air and a yellow magic circle appears in the center of the ship, and before they can react, two explosions of citrine crystals emerge from the magic circle, all four pirate crew members were hit as pieces of crystals were embedded onto their bodies. The four pirates barely had enough time to register what just happened when the young captain proceeded to descend onto the deck of the ship where she impacts her bare foot and lets out a shockwave that shatters the crystals on the four pirates’ bodies, delivering a lot of energy that was swiftly knocked them all out in just two moves.
“What-?! NO!!!”
“Guys, NOO!!!”
Captain Carver and Holly yelled respectively as they watched four of their friends being knocked out by two swift techniques from the young captain. Two of their remaining friends quickly charged at her, attempting to use their martial arts to take her down, but the girl proved to be too much for them as she used advanced kicking techniques to swiftly knock them out too, leaving only the pirate captain and quartermaster left.
“You’re dead!”
Holly, seething with anger at her friends’ being rendered unconscious by this Crystal Warlock, proceeds to clash with her as she uses her abilities as a Water Mage to deal with this threat, with Captain Carver joining in. The battle between the crystal Iron Leg captain and Captain Carver and Holly was fierce, they jumped between ships as they fought ferociously. Unfortunately for the two pirates, this young captain proved to be too much as she first knocks out Holly after shattering several crystals previously embedded on her body before landing a flying kick to her face, rendering her unconscious too.
“HOLLY!!!”
Captain Carver screamed before turning to the crystal captain.
“This is for the Buccaneers!”
Carver fought with every breath he takes, he manages get injure the young captain during his last stand, but even after his valiant efforts, his efforts weren’t enough as he was hit by a Crystal beam before the young captain slammed her foot onto the deck of his ship, sending a shockwave that shatters the crystal and finally brought down Captain Carver of The Brave Buccaneers.
"N-No! This isn’t fair!.. This was our story!
Captain Carver helplessly looked around, seeing all of his close friends and Holly on the ground, they were all breathing but unable to do anything in their current state. Carver looked up at the crystal captain with the Iron Leg style as she takes all of their treasures
“That’s our treasure!.. Give that… back! They’re ours!”
Carver felt his own consciousness fading, his vision was starting to darken as he tries to keep himself awake, not wanting to let his crew down. But alas, his body cannot stay awake, the last thing he sees was the young captain kneeling beside him, she didn’t look happy despite her victory over him, her golden hair flowing with the sea breeze. She carries Carver in his arms before saying the last words the pirate captain would hear before he finally succumbs to his loss of consciousness
“I’m sorry if I hurt you guys too much… I hope the Grand Navy can treat all of your wounds.”
That’s the last thing Carver would hear… before he and his pirate crew wake up in Silverhold…

(Sorry, mods, if this story is too long for General Writing, this was intended to be a quick short story about an NPC pirate crew versus a player in the form of a semi-realistic perspective type of story.
