lore related question: so we all know the dark seas is what lurks when you go too far out, but is there ever an end to the dark seas?
like the warseas really cannot be the only ocean with habitable areas of land here and there, surely there has to be other islands and oceans right?
so where does the dark seas end and where does a new ocean start? doesn’t WOM take place on the other side of the planet in the future? what’s happening there now?

The dark seas make up majority of the sea, while areas like the seven seas and the war seas are referred to as Sea Clusters. I don’t remember whether or not these two are currently the only two sea clusters in the world, as I’m pretty sure the Old Seas were destroyed.
I’m pretty sure there’s a visual drawn by vetex somewhere in the forums, I’ll try to find it
thank you!
also, another question pertaining to the game, will we be getting an awakening on release? like using 2 magics?
dark seas is basically the rest of the world other than the 7 seas, that one sea next to the 7 seas & the dark seas (though there could be more safe spots somewhere, who knows?)
Here we go
Obviously not my screenshot

man the planet is mostly uninhabitable then huh
will the dark seas ever go away?
Yeah it’s pretty likely, awakening are planned on the to do list before the testing session and release so i’d expect them after the story, lost spells/techniques and rare weapons are completed
awesome
so with the warlock build, when you fuse a magic and a fighting technique/style together, does the magic affect the style in any significant way or is it just damage increase? kinda like how conjurer weapons can become affected by their magics?
like light magic would make your punches faster and synergize with crystalized
or fire magic makes your punches burn every hit
I’m pretty sure it’s the result of the heavy influence magic’s had on the world, with extreme levels of magic pollution. I don’t remember if magic pollution dissipates over time but it would probably take like millennia for the amount that exists in the dark seas to lower to a “normal” level
Pretty sure it gives magic effects and scales the damage with magic and strength, so fire magic warlocks will get burning fists without needing thermo fist
unsure if magic effects stack with fighting styles that have effects already, we’ll just have to see when we get awakenings to see if we can do wacky shit like ice magic sailor fist or magma magic thermo fist

oh so fighting techniques DO adopt the properties of the magic they are infused with?
AO is literally post-apocalyptic now
yes, but unsure if we get stacking effects
Vetex mentioned once that imbuing a magic onto a weapon that applies a status effect (such as sunken sword’s soaked) would cause the two effects to interact with each other (example imbuing ice onto sunken sword would cause it to apply the frozen status effect).
I could see the same going for fighting styles as well

so like
if I wanna use arm of the meteor with light magic on a crystalized opponent
will I get the synergy bonus from light with every hit?
yea I think that might happen with it
yea you would
also arm of the meteor is a name you can make with moves, the skill is called rushdown
also now that i think about it, that might be an op combo for warlocks
use a magic effect then use a rushdown skill to deal lots of extra damage
oh this is simply excellent
I cannot wait to be a light/crystal warlock :boss:
wait does light also increase the speed of attacks?
