Ok it is decided, this is now the official place where I’ll post updates regarding EP:FC updates.
Additionally I’ve noticed a small change in the experimental version where on rank 4 of the combat perks, the vitality (+20% hp) and vital targets (+15% more damage) perks are now “linked” meaning that you can only pick one or the other for that level.
Also I’ll just add a poll here since I wanted to ask EP:FC players a question:
Have modifications for armour be added
Have modifications for bags added
Both
0voters
Since I was wondering if players wanted to see more mods for non-tool related equipment.
EPFC experimental recently got an update that added the sentinel specialisation, which makes intercepted automatically looped, it requires awareness 3 and advanced protocols 3 to equip. I feel like this might be nerfed since it currently allows you to loop cameras just by accessing a network switch and deploying interception onto it without generating any risk if you have the surveillance mod.
Additionally in solo games you can select a specialisation from another character you have to add a boost onto the character that you bring to help solo players, so you could potentially give yourself some juicy buffs by having another character with the specialisation you want to bring.
So I forgot to report on some updates in the experimental version but here it is:
You can rotate cameras that you’ve intercepted (using the hack) without needing to go into the camera view (this requires you to have a hacking tablet in your inventory)
Specialisations are now purchased in the contact menu and you can only purchase them once you have a level 50 character
The sentinel specialisation can now only loop one camera at a time and it increases your hacking risk by 5 when looping a camera, only one camera can be looped at a time
There’s now a notes page that helps you track codes and passwords, this is removed when the reduced UI setting is enabled
New items:
Concealed frontline armour that reduces available inventory space by 2
Large ammo pouches that allow you to carry 50% more ammo at the cost of reducing your inventory space by 2
Pry bar, essentially the crowbar that can be used to break open doors in a similar fashion to brute strength 3, takes 5 space, and seems to speed up or be faster than the kick door prompt for brute strength 3, having brute strength 3 allows you to pry open a few more tougher doors
New hacking tablet mod: sledgehammer: lowers the requirement for the kill switch hack by 1 but increases deploy time by +50% (this presumably makes it generate more risk due to the deployment time, haven’t tested it yet)
Try the operators demo first, and try to get all the challenges on the first mission completed to get a feel for the game, then if you enjoyed operators and the progression (since completing challenges allows you to progress and unlock more equipment) then you’ll enjoy EP:FC
I mean… if you liked both of those demos then it’ll probably be good for you, but I’d just wait a bit in case there is something you’d like to spend it on instead after awhile
considering everything that’s been going down with Roblox lately I’d say that’s one of the few things still worth whatever robux you have left
If you don’t intend to stick around with Roblox in the distant future then at the very least you’d be giving your robux to a dev that might devex it rather than abandoning it to the void where Roblox would retain 100% of what you spent on it since you never used it
(at least that was my mindset when spending some of the last of the robux I’ve been rationing across the past few years on it. Maybe there’s something else you intended to use it on idk)
that being said though, do beware of the possibility that within this very month Roblox is planning to roll out some of the heavier publishing restrictions they’ve been alluding to for a while now and you might not even get to play it (it’s gonna come down to if cishato is face & ID verified, and if Freelancer’s Cut counts as having 500 ““highly engaged players””[1])
Roblox has unfortunately not decided to define what it takes to qualify as a highly engaged player so we’re kinda in the dark about how games will be affected exactly ↩︎
