Maybe ship people with actual chemistry? Like existing couples or people who’d realistically make a good pair? I generally dislike shipping because it’s such a dumpster fire 99% of the time and this is an example of such.
Good ship: two good friends that know each other and have no explicitly stated feelings of romance, but haven’t disproven such either. They know each other well and are comfortable with one another. This could work with rivals that frequently encounter one another and find themselves one the same and opposite sides fairly equally.
Bad ship: People who have no romantic history or have stated clearly they’ve no attraction to one another. Or if one or both parties are straight-up in a relation already. The two characters you’ve chosen to ship only have met to literally kill one another and have no history other than that. They both not a good match and also nobody else ships it genuinely.
There aren’t much lore characters that’s in WoM and besides I do see chemistry happening between minotaur and exiled.
Even still, no one else does and largely say that it’s a hot no.

It isn’t stupid since there are people like that in real life. They lie to keep their relationship in secret but they do stuffs that couples do in private.
