If you’ve ever been in one of those big underwater diving points you’d know that 2x, even 3x the air is nothing. It’s barely enough to loot everything, let alone be a viable build.

people really like talking about water breathing, huh?

I’ll compose an actualy response later, but in essence these meat riding cock sucking b-team glazers refuse to see their [Balance team] flaws.

Sure, they may come up with a good change once in a blue moon. But that doesn’t change the fact that the majority of their changes are ill received by the wider community. They over nerf, they over buff, they fill out 20 pages of useless nmber changes that will never get added. [Credit where it’s due, they have trimmed it down].

This change is just one example in a plethora of others of balance team messing up (See, Surge, Attack Speed, Dodge reflexes, Agility, etc).

It’s just a shame that these meat riders are too bigoted and arrogant to see this.

I have quite honestly seen 0 people complaining about 100% water breathing gems. Yet, when the oh-so-holy B-team nerfs it (bug fixing, call it what you want. It makes it worse than it was originally, so in my book that’s a nerf), a whole army of mindless sheep in balance cord rise up and say that it was always a problem and praise balance team for their efforts in making running from ganking effectively, impossible.

Yeah there’s a notable amount of times where something was never an issue but as soon as the bteam brought it up, many people magically thought that it was mandatory change for AO that would fix something so “oppressive”

the level of arguing over this is wild but im gonna say everything i think

this change is bad not only because it just makes diving worse but also cause as other people said it doesnt even do anything in the end?? potions can be practically infinite anyway, it doesnt stop people from easily diving or hiding from ganks, it just slightly inconveniences people right now

to the people complaining about people using waterbreathing gems to run from getting ganked please consider the fact youre ganking someone with a diving build and maybe youll realize why they prefer to run from you

i agree oxygen shouldnt be infinite frankly, if the abyssal part of the dark sea is gonna be huge later on. But the fact is its just better for the game at the moment to have infinite oxygen be a thing till other diving stuff is added to make diving more bearable without it (imagining some subnautica type stuff rn)

edit: forgot to mention but i saw some stuff about infinite oxygen trivializing diving… and frankly this just shows how bad diving is without it anyway, the oxygen meter shouldnt be your arch nemesis thats not fun gameplay

so basically what im saying is keep the infinite breathing till diving without it becomes less annoying

Dude I have lost 5 whole seconds of air time with the ‘new’ way of how water breathing works

Not as bad as every lunge ability except for teleport lunges (like the katana’s and dual-swords’) being completely neutered outside of combat.

Its not thats why theyre doing this, they want to “encourage players” to farm then go to dark sea to be search for golden cauldrons

I saw people saying that auric seaweed (and seaweed) is too common so making infinite water breathing, so just make them more rare or something I dunno. Make it a meaningful reward instead of removing a feature that players seem to like

Alright then, seaweed should take up spots of auric seaweed at diving points and, dark sea island shores and non-abyssal structures.
If that is such an issue, auric seaweed can be set to only spawn in abyssal structures and dark sea underwater structures.
