As i said in my first post, i really like indie games
And what do you do with something you like?
You spread the word of it.
So in this post, i recommend to you uncultured swines some good fucking games
do note that i will only talk about not very known games or games that i like way too much to keep them out
To start off this post, i will present Alter Ego and Alter Ego Complex, two games made by Caramel Column Inc. — a, as you can guess, indie company
It must be very obvious that this is my favorite game, as Es is literally my profile picture
Alter Ego sells itself as a game to discover more about yourself, to learn who you are
The game itself is a point-and-click visual novel, or as the normie may say “dating sim” although there is no dating or sim
paraphrasing a friend, this is depressed cookie clicker.
Alter Ego tells its story through interactions with Es, the librarian, said interactions being unlocked with EGO, this game’s currency that is obtained through tapping Thoughts and reading books, classics, such as Metamorphosis, Demian and The Little Prince, a few i can name off the top of my head.
The game has 3 endings and 7 personality test outcomes, and although you can try to catch em’ all, i recommend actually doing them with honesty on your first playthrough
Alter Ego Complex
This is a spinoff of Alter Ego, for those who have already finished the first game. The gameplay is similar (though different in the core), but there are a few minigames in the figurebooks, which make it quite enjoyable as a past-time.
By the way, this is the closest to a dating sim of Es you people are getting.
That concludes the first (technically first and second) game(s), i hope i managed to reel in your interest.
Leaving the simplistic beauty of Alter Ego, time for something a bit more intense
The second game is Your Only Move Is: Hustle, a game made by Ivy Sly, a solo dev
YOMI is a turn-based strategic fighting game that may be nostalgic to some as similar to Toribash.
The game includes 5 base characters including a cowboy that cosplays Vergil (he also has a .38!) a wizard that plays pingpong with your soon-to-be-dead body, a ninja that also has a laser gun, a robot that can make 15.000 hp seem like 500 in 3 turns and a beast that makes you understand why its gimmick is called “juke”
And if somehow you get tired of getting clips in base game, YOMI has a passionate modding community that releases new unique mods nearly daily
With that, the second game is concluded, which leaves me to recommend one more game before my wrist gives up on me, i hope you have been enjoying the post.
To finish off with golden key, a not-so-hidden gem
Lobotomy Corporation is a game made by the indie company “Project Moon”
(i really wished there was a higher res version of this image)
Lobco is a management sim about working with monsters called Abnormalities to generate energy, it can be quite stressfull for the avarage Arcane Odyssey player but you can trust me when i say that, the suffering will be paid off
The story is quite linear, and although your options don’t matter, there are three endings (technically two) obtained through two specific ingame actions (they may come naturally for you)
That concludes this topic.
My wrist is dying on me and my fingers hurt.
I hope i got at least one of you to play one of these games, they are all very important to me (specially Alter Ego)
With that, i go back into slumber.
Gather more EGO and come see me again as soon as possible.
