The Memories of Nova Lundqvist (Chapter II - Escape)

I fell asleep in my quarters to get my regular 4 hours of sleep. The quarters weren’t where I woke up. When I woke up, I was instead being carried by what looked to be one of the experiments. He was running. He seemed familiar, with his brown eyes and black messy hair, but I couldn’t remember his name. I was about to yell for the guards when I felt a sudden pain on the side of my head. Everything went black.

I woke up again with a throbbing headache. My eye was immediately greeted by heavy rain and a dark sky. I was on a boat. There were three experiments next to me, one of which I recognized as Solomon. He was rowing vigorously with the black haired one, both looking exhausted. The third wasn’t moving. It became apparent to me rather quickly at that moment that the three of them were attempting to escape the Order, but…why was I with them?

When I sat up, Solomon looked at me with a somewhat relieved expression. “Oh, thank goodness you’re awake! Sorry about your head. We would’ve never gotten this far if you called for help, so Morden had to knock you out. We’ll explain more later, but all you need to know is that we’ve lost them. We’re free.”

I sat there in silence, not sure how to react. I didn’t know how to feel or what to say or what to do. There was one question I still had, though. “Why did you bring me?” Solomon sighed as he looked out into the open ocean. “I had to. I couldn’t bear the thought of us escaping without you, leaving you to be abused for your entire life. They cut out your eye, for f#%&’s sake! You deserve to be free just as much as we do!” I didn’t ask any more questions.
