Being difficult and being “advanced” are not the same thing. I don’t know if this NPC is a basic normal NPC or boss one that’s suppose to be super hard but still my point about hard NPCs not necessarily being good ones is still a point I want to make. A good NPC isn’t hard, but adaptable and dynamic. It changes when you change and spices it up. If it was the same repeated actions over and over again while getting stuck on basic obstacles that’d be a terrible NPC but if it could switch up it’s playstyle and have good pathfinding then it would be a better NPC. Judging an NPC’s complexity by it’s difficulty is a bad means of doing it.
Now with that being said I’ll have to just agree that this game has it’s own stuff. I love the armor and weapon crafting you mentioned, I think that’s a great mechanic that most games should have. Customization and versatility are my two biggest things I love in games, more so customization. It’s a big reason why Fallout NV is one of, if not my, favorite game of all time. You can finish the game by killing everybody or nobody, talk your way out of a situation, sneak by it, or shoot it dead. There are a multitude of ways to play the game that make each playthrough unique, make each save file stand out just a little bit. Mods just exponentially add onto that.
Spell creation is another great system that just sounds like fun. That definitely did not look like it from the videos I’ve seen with people using the same-ish spells. This is nice if it exists, the videos make me just doubt.
The build varieties are excellent news as well! Just adding onto my love for games that allow you to create your own way of playing, just so long as it’s not purely RNG but it’s a Roblox game so who knows. I want players to pick and choose their options, not try to spin for the objectively best one. So t his one could be a hit or miss for me.
Not really going to touch on the rest but still this all just seems great to have. I can see why there is hype for it now, still don’t think it’s the most revolutionary game on Roblox, but I can definitely see excitement for it. Still I don’t think it can shake that rogue aesthetic that it has and honestly it’s a big turn off. Permadeath is also just a stupid mechanic in my eyes since it just punishes players for dying instead of rewarding players for killing. Actually by the looks of it it’ll probably punish you for both, even if one is lower than the other. I’m more for promoting good stuff than punishing bad but hey that’s just me. In my eyes permadeath is basically like a skill issue rebirth system, where you do the same thing over and over and over again to prolong gameplay. Hopefully it isn’t like that.
K I’m done typing about this now, hopefully. Overall you’ve made me somewhat actually excited for this game, bravo.
