i get what you’re saying i think people need more proof of their shenanigans though, people that have hope or are attached to the game and are kind of in denial of what a mess the game is will just pass this off as rambling, i imagine you got people that know the balancing team defending them here and you got a flame war probably where the side that’s with you is like “meh just let them go on, they’ll see in a few months or years”
like the development team and balancing team need to really do something out there to recover from how much AO has fell off,
maybe i’m just rambling here and upset about my experience with the game and how i see its future going (worse than AAs downfall sadly), i’m hoping we can get vetex to move off platform in some way or show signs off doing so, he can make a singleplayer game for now for all that matters so there’s no “server costs” i feel like he’s just putting that off when he should really be thinking about his future.
roblox can be involved in some scandal or some scandal can appear, and that’s all it’ll take to ruin roblox and take away the dreams of so many creators he really needs a back-up plan like the writing for this game is just not there, i get the comedic and (idk the word) of writing a game with greek mythology but man he’s too in his head

AO didn’t really fall off though. A singleplayer (ish) story game will naturally lose players since the content gets exhausted really easily. Roblox massively favors multiplayer games and it isn’t even a debate. It’s also not like every game will stay in the spotlight forever.

Vetex has stated before that he was planning to be a writer once he’s done with AO, also it’s really assuming of you to think that apparently Vetex “should be thinking about his future,” when he won’t be doing game development anymore. After all it’s not like he needs to confine himself to game development that he doesn’t like for our enjoyment.

You’re vastly underestimating the giant multi-millionaire company that is Roblox. That’s just what those wannabe commentary Roblox Doomer Youtubers like CowCow and Parlo say and want you to think. Because from a technical standpoint Roblox is at really good spot with it’s community (community 50/50) and games. Also whatever your problems about him being in his head too much or not having a good story or whatever will just improve as he goes further into his writing career.

idk the stuff you said just kinda rubbed me the wrong way, because I’ve been on this website for like 11 years and I swear to god there has been like 30 scandals that would apparently end Roblox or something.

Nerfing agility; AO’s movement is what seperates it from alot of games and i would double down and capitalize off of it

future in game development, i was trying to say it’s wasted potential, the future of roblox doesn’t look so promising to me

my rambling was and is goofy, i didn’t support my points well ( or at all for that matter) and it’s pretty much all over the place, i really couldn’t care less about that, you did much better addressing my rambling, i’ll attempt to re-adress my views on what i was saying, AO is still a game with alot of potential.

I don’t think he’ll find developing AO to its finish very enjoyable, it’s up for him to decide that not me. I don’t think he’d have that promising of a career in writing, I read books i find interesting and watch shows i find interesting, the novels and anime we’re getting nowadays don’t seem as promising compared to shows from early 2000s and 2010s, books from the 20th century are pretty cool too ( and ones before then duh). It seems VERY unrealistic to me at the current stage unless some major change happens in his life.
I’m pretty confident he should follow through with game development and writing in some way which can be done by developing games outside the roblox platform, I don’t know much about his situation so there’s not much i can say honestly, I want a out of roblox game developed by him (possibly with a team of other developers), I knew the creators of neonknights were making a game outside of roblox, which you can find on their twitter in case you were interested.

I’ve been on roblox for 10-11 years by now and I understand what you’re saying, I don’t know any of those youtubers and I don’t get influenced by people that easily especially online, I know there’s been scandals and things like that (that one roblox sonic game developer), yeah what I said was pretty out there, there’s alot of upcoming games and content that look fun to play with friends (help)
I’m at the stage of my life where I need to move away from these things pretty much, I don’t think we’re going back to anything near how older roblox was and I see game developers quitting or moving on with their life left, right and centre (iltria of verdant moon (check out her other games, really nice), various rpg start ups that didn’t go through and so forth (and sometimes due to very selfish people being involved, namely ready 2 die following R2DA/ R2D ( tying this to solo development versus team development here) with the exception of neon knights developers, shout out to uh unturned too, there’s other rpg games that look to be going well too ( memoria worlds, block tales etc. etc… ).
what rubbed you the wrong way was probably the pessimism behind what i was saying, that and the bias you can sense
(it’s difficult for me to play AO nowadays especially with a lower-end device + the packet lag issue + disconnects, and I lost quite alot of sunken staffs and sunken swords when nimbus sea hit, all that diving and trading just gone like that…)
I really went off-topic away from the issues with balancing team, here were my more proper thoughts on what we discussed.

All the best for his writing career, I would like to see it take place side by side with his game development career too though!

I believe that the balance changes should be pushed immeditaelly to the test universe so testers can test things before the changes release (That’s literally their job). This of course would only work if we had testers that actually tested

literally survivorship bias
there were still a lot of bad media back then, but you either won’t remember them, or they never really made it into the spotlight because social media wasn’t as big.


but yeah, I think there should definitely be more testing done on the extremes of certain changes (for example the max attack size ult art explosions from when the game first released)(or certain very high attack speed builds)(or the very low base sizes of certain weapon self aoe skills)
that way you can catch some stuff that’s unbalanced before publishing the update which would give the balance team a lot less work to do so they can focus on finding the smaller issues that got past

yup maybe one day they will nerf intensity!
also for your first comment did you really background check what i was talking about? i’ve seen atleast 1 video on it just in my recommended for anime specifically, and i’m sure there’s more videos online for both novels and anime and books even.

it’s a pretty established topic so don’t take it from me or bother speaking to me about it, also notice i said “compared to shows”, i don’t see how this falls under survivor bias, i am pretty thorough and confident with what i was saying still… you can just take it as my opinion and we can agree to disagree or you can research and agree ( otherwise recommend some recent novels that are of sound quality!)

There’s been an idea for this talked about in the private server for a little bit, dubbed the “box check”, as a method to help counter insane agility builds. I also altered it a bit for what I think it should be doing, but its 98% the same idea that’s been talked about here and there.

Basically, WHILE IN COMBAT, dashing would check a box shaped zone in front of your character, and if nobody is there, the effect of the agility stat would be greatly reduced. It would not effect T jumping or player movement speed that is effected by agility.

Keep in mind THIS IS JUST AN IDEA, meaning there’s a pretty good chance it never becomes a thing, but it would be a pretty decent solution for people who run agility solely for running away, and would also still allow people to use high agility for PVE options.

this isn’t true, i pinged everyone and we voted on it, not a single person voted no :skull:. It’s only after it got in the game that the majority of people noticed it wasnt a good idea, and since yesterday thanks to Fluect I’ve abandoned the idea of it being a dps based get off me tool
