The Problem With the Warrior Awakening [RANT]

I have a growing hatred for how bad the warrior awakening is this is overall a rant of a schizophrenic AO pvper that just wants the awakening to not be a wet paper towel that is slapped onto the weapon and calling it “Weapon aura”

(Disclaimer: I use gun warrior and not the AOE type of warrior so this is from someone who does not use AOE on warrior so just putting that out there)

Over the years because warrior multiple times has had the hold on the meta the awakening has been nerfed alot to a point where light conjurers and even savants atleast in full release are going to do more damage than warrior which is the Weapon class.

Going off that why do hybrid weapon classes get to do more damage with less stats contributed into the weapons stat? well that is because of synergy with magic types.

Before any of you say “But you get more weapon moves” refer to the message above i am a gun warrior and although yes i am finally getting new moves it just frustrates me.

The awakening itself has been nerfed so many times because of the people who use AOE builds on the class which ruins it for me because i don’t have AOE “But why don’t you just switch off guns?” Well because i have stuck with it for like a year now.

Yup

Warrior’s ability to manipulate the awakening with enchants to have big and fast but less damaging attacks is nice but the awakening is really underwhelming

I don’t think weapons dealing less damage is the intention though seeing that it gets a increase to weapon damage

Was refering to ardent warrior with attack size or big weapons with attack speed as it works fine and weapons that doesn’t deal bleeding has a lot less dmg like most popular warrior weapons anyway

This calls for a warrior awakening change

-10% attack damage

-12.5% attack speed

-20% attack size

More moves doesn’t mean anything if conjurers and warlords can just outdps you

true but in vectord whenever i or someone else asks for a awakening buff of any warrior buff good or bad they always bring it up

Don’t know why people bring up more moves as a rebuttal, pretty certain most build don’t even utilize all their slots for combat

warriors have the highest tier scalings out of any class in the game, they have basically +50% size compared to hybrids

Also warrior does not have the highest AOE scaling i would say that goes to mage and warlord also just saying “warriors have the highest tier scaling” means you are also including those who don’t use AOE weapons.

Ngl I think you’re underestimating how good the tier scaling on warrior is, when I used warrior with bronze musket the impact aoe on pshot felt like a savant pgale and it was usable as a beam and is much bigger (and faster = easier to hit) than a water conj musket or as big

That is not an argument whatsoever,
”I only use 1% of the power my class provides therefore it needs a buff!”

This shouldn’t even be labelled PvP when it’s a problem both in PvE and PvP lmao

Anyways I agree that warrior’s awakening kinda sucks but that’s due to my mixed view on it as being just a stat boost. A fourth slot would be interesting but that creates problems for what a 2nd awakening would do.

Weapons (and spirit weapons) should just have the exact same skill implementation as magics and fighting styles: custom skills that can be learned and created, along with players starting with 1 weapon slot and unlocking more via weapons-based awakenings.

itd be cool if it was something about improving the status effects of your weapons

Isn’t warrior awakening getting the ability to reforge weapons or was that scrapped?

All the cool stuff is locked behind 2nd awakening
