The Earth Curse…
The glowing, brown cube sat there, in the middle of the lush jungle. It emitted a powerful aura, almost as if any magic user good enough to shoot a blast would be able to sense it. Yet, Sophron Solum had searched so far. His heart raced, as his lifelong treasure had been found. 4 days without food before he reached the jungle. 2 without water. He had come a long way from his hometown of Lunisan, in the distant seas. It was under the control of an evil kingdom, named Yumea who taxed it harshly, and used it as a training ground for their soldiers, causing crops to die out from magic pollution. But now… He was here. His one way ticket to freedom was right in front of him, waiting to be absorbed.
The adventurer reached his hand out, and felt the energy of the curse jump into his blood. His veins. His skin. He pointed his finger, while directing his thoughts toward moving the stone, and the bedrock jumped from the ground, knocking over a nearby tree. For the first time in a few days, Sohpron smiled. It was time to strike. It was time for an insurgence.
With the curse in Sophron’s grasp, he got on his sailboat, and started plotting. After a few hours at sea, he had conceived a plan. The next time Yumea would send a caravel of soldiers requesting tribute, Sophron would sneak onto the ship, getting to the mainland of Yumea and wiping it off the map. He chuckled, knowing that his plan was sure to succeed, and that soon he would bring back peace to his town.
Sophron docked his boat at the town, and went to go train. He worked, day in and day out. Then, one day, he heard the familiar sounds of the boats. The Earth Curse user jumped out, and while the soldiers were distracted with getting the money from the mayor, Sophron coated his fist with earth and broke into the hull of the ship, laying his body down inside. He patched the hole with the rock he used, carefully filling in the gaps to be sure that the ship wouldn’t sink, as that would ensure his death. He got into the hull, and waited, drifting to sleep.
The ship stopped. Sophron went sliding to the side, as he awoke from his deep slumber. Then, he striked. He turned his body into stone, exploding the ship, and knocking many soldiers into the water. They couldn’t do anything to stop him. He destroyed the towns, ships, whatever he could get his hands on. He slaughtered soldier after soldier, as their bullets or swords just phased right through him. Then, somebody appeared behind him. He could sense this person was strong. They whispered,
“So, it looks like you’re the one who’s been trying to destroy our glorious nation? For a curse user, your aura is weak.”
It was a feminine voice. Sophron turned, but before he could entirely, he was slammed in the chest with a strong kick. He went flying back. This was the work of a strong magic user, he could tell.
Her hands crackled with a teal yellow electricity. Lightning magic, he identified.
“Try to defeat me, but after all I’ve been through, nothing will stop me from getting revenge and freeing my village. Why do you do this anyway? Why do you defend this corrupt nation?”
“Corrupt? I was born here. I watched this kingdom become as strong as it is. Abandoning my nation now would be to throw away everything I had worked for. My family died at war, and I wish to be the same as they were. Strong warriors. I am Cecila Storm, and I shall defeat you
Sophron turned his body into stone, and charged at her, as parts of him were split off into rubble from the heavy lightning that he was enduring. They were just about equals. When he threw a heavy kick, she threw a punch to parry it. When she blasted him, he blocked it with earth.
Their battle raged on, as they both fought to keep their homes safe. Finally, they both went in for one clash to finish it. Sophron gathered his energy, as he was ready to end this once and for all, while Caelia focused her Lightning magic, ready to destroy him to save her nation. The two warriors rushed at each other, and collided.
The island was leveled. The two wizards were knocked out, as a massive crater formed where they fought.
Sophron woke up firstHe looked around, and realized his work was done. He saw Caelia’s body, and decided that he didn’t want somebody who was just misguided dying for no reason. Sophron checked her pulse, and saw that it was still beating, however, slowly. He picked her up, and launched himself off to his hometown. He told the village that they were saved from the tyrannic nation, and while they celebrated, he nursed Caelia back to health. When she woke up, days later, she was confused. Why was she here, in this mysterious place? Sophron noticed that she was awake, and told her what happened. She was very upset, but Sophron told her what was really happening, and why he had to destroy the nation. She reluctantly agreed to stay in this village, after trying to stand up but realizing she didn’t have the energy.
Years later, they fall in love, get married, and have kids.

(For anybody wondering why the Earth Curse is in circulation, in this universe and also cuz I really like earth, Durza got rid of the extra elemental curses that weren’t as strong as his main ones)
