It is astounding that a 2023 movie was not advertised so much to the point that even I only heard about it only recently.
spoilers ahead.
After watching the movie itself it kept the height of scripting and cinema throughout the entire two hours. the set design and aesthetic of, the contrast of every scene and the actors played their roles amazingly.
This movie has given me a lot more appreciation to tetris as a game. the historical significance the game brings, I think, will never be matched. it gives me an entirely new perspective everytime I play the game probably forever and I greatly recommend watching this movie if you’ve ever played.

The story was really charismatic in the way it kept you in, we see this kind of underdog story with henk but as it goes on I feel like he’s more of a static character. he stays the same charismatic salesman type figure and loving parent while still keeping it interesting, the maxwells were great adversaries until the real antagonists shown up being the KGB.
It was all fantastically tied together in two hours, I dont think it lost itself in any way trying to do so much. it felt like it did what it had to.
Nearing the end for me, the car scene recalled me those greenscreen car chases and it was really fun, valentin trifonov was fantastic in the end, really capturing the fall from grave the USSR did in the ending aswell.
I did not expect it be that interesting at first watch but just in 20 minutes I was already hooked. this is a really great example for what a video game tv/movie adaptation should be, like with arcane, fallout or last of us.
