The Vatrachos Buffs are INSANE

Hey all. As you know I’m dedicated to having the highest possible health in the game. On the balance trello, vatrachos is expected to be buffed by 3.6x its defense. On paper that sounds insane, but it’s also receiving a drawback nerf. As of right now, the maximum possible defense is 3214 using this build:

Now, that’s a pretty hefty number. However, let’s look at the math when Vatrachos gets buffed.

Vatrachos at the moment provides 457 defense unenchanted with 9 drawback. This is going to be 1609 defense with 13 drawback.

After adding in Painite (which is getting buffed as well by 14%) and Frozen Titanium Pauldrons, you’re sitting at 3551 unenchanted. That sounds like a lot, but remember, you are taking 248 damage per attack due to your 23 drawback.

After adding in Armoured enchantments, that brings our total up to 4226 defense at level 140 post-buff. Is this viable? Hell no. But it’s fun to have a big health number. That would bring your HP up to 5306.

Not to mention, jewel strength is entirely relative to the current max level, so painite will have even more defense. We don’t know exactly how the stats correlate right now though.

To get the defense at max level (175 is the estimated full release cap afaik), we just need to add on the defense per level of the armoured enchant, and the modified defense per level of the armour pieces * 30.

Each armoured enchant scales at 8 per ten levels. That leads to level 170 gear gaining 24 defense each. Add 120 to the total.

Vatrachos Chestplate scales at 10 defense per 10 levels. After the buff, that will be 36 per ten levels. Add 108 to the total.

Each of the accessories + boots scales at 7 per ten levels. Post buff, that is 25.2.
Add 75 to the total.

Frozen Titanium Pauldrons scale at 17 per ten levels. Level 170 would be +51.

Not including Painite scaling to max level, the max defense at level 175 will be…
drumroll

4580.

That means your total health at level 175 will be 5905. You will take 304 damage per attack that you throw. This is not viable. But big health numbers are funny.

all stats were acquired through the gear builder. the wiki’s stat numbers are not accurately maintained.
also keep in mind painite will also increase from the level cap increase since gems scale on the lvl cap
this also does not include frozen metal arcsphere bc i don’t have metal and most people do not use metal magic classe

I mean, yeah, but good luck dying in 10 spell casts in PVP.

It’s not meant to be PvP viable. It’s just a funny build.

Feel free to edit it, it’s pretty tough keeping the stat maximums in order since there are now stat-specific equipment sets

maybe it’d have some use as a build in guild fights with a magic like poison that deals a ton of damage overall with DoT (and doesn’t stack DoT, meaning that it’s not efficient to attack someone you just attacked) and don’t need to actually kill people, just inflict lots of damage on them overall

The main thing I do with my current build if I have to pvp is potions; having potency boosts on my gems and having max brewing leads to my harming potions doing around 350 damage, and healing potions are really fucky rn in terms of healing. Thrown healing potions heal a percentage of the thrower’s max health, meaning if I toss a healing pot at a party member I end up healing them like 1200 hp. Potions don’t trigger drawback.

Also, 20 hit rushdown is great for stalling for an ally to charge up a strong hit. I don’t usually play alone.

Iirc potency only affects duration of ironskin, so it would just be 50% damage reduction, -20% agility, but a long duration.

It would be nice if vetex did a wiki integration with his Trello. It’s probably only possible in the Miraheze wiki. Basically it auto updates wiki data whenever a formula is changed or new item is added. If a new item is added to the game, it is shown in the wiki with the basic description of that item.

The main thing I have trouble with is, for the armour stats, I have no information on what the internal defense values are, only the external ones. The wiki uses the internal values and then converts them to the displayed numbers. The balance team’s armour stat sheet is not up to date.

Vetex never interacts with the already existing 2+ year old wiki that has seen thousands of visits, Miraheze isn’t even caught up yet

Balance trello, specifically this card.

When I asked meta, he said painite is a 14% buff, not 15.5%, so i don’t know which one was accurate. I just lowballed it with the 14% buff he gave me.

Increasing by 260% means it’s a 3.6x multiplier, so it’s even higher than it first looks.

edited bc i forgot to add stats from upgrading frozen titanium pauldrons to level 170

if there isn’t something that gives more 100 defense than frozen titanium pauldrons i will cry. this update we’ve been blueballed by just barely not being able to hit 5k, and now next update will be the same with 6k

Don’t forget that you will also lose out on vitality’s health increase.
