I was in the middle of writing about the power system but then I lost the long ass multi paragraph essay draft of the post trying to reply to something and I don’t feel like rewriting that shit again. So I’ll expand on the races one at a time and postpone that powerscaling for a later date.
The Eifs and Teifs: History
As mentioned before, there are humans and there are Eifs. I mentioned previously that the human category consists of regular people and mythological beings like minotaurs, dwarves, gnomes, whatever. If this is the case then why would the Eifs be in their own category while the rest of the other ones exist in the human category? They are in the same genus after all so naturally it would make sense if they weren’t their own category completed separated from all the others right?
It turns out they had their heads so far up their own asses that they felt like they were just that cool enough to be in a league of their own. Meaning they used to be grouped in with humans but at some point was separated.
The Eifs and Teifs: Biology
The Eifs are just humans who can conduct Astra’s better and have longer lifespans, that’s about it. The real kooky stuff comes about because of these traits and external factors
There’s this weird Astra energy that builds up in your body over the course of your life until the day you die, this energy is unavoidable and is just a fact of life. The good part is that the Astra energy will take hundreds of years before anything weird or notable happens to your body, meaning you’ll be long dead before weird shit happens so none of this will effect you.
The bad part, as you can imagine, is that Eifs will live long enough for this change in their body to be noticeable. This means that that if you are an Eif this gradual energy pollution of your body will very much effect you. The Astral conduction speeds this up very much.
Eifs will live their lives like humans, eventually they get old. But then their body starts reverse aging until they’re a child again (which is the part where they’re like “Oh fuck”), then they have a second life of sorts where now they’ll grow up as an Eif. The lifespans vary from just hundreds to just under a million years, but that is determined by how healthy you were in your prime human years.
Eif’s and Astras
Explaining this part is gonna make me feel like a teacher who skipped units and now her students are extremely confused. Blame this weird ass websites drafting system for that.
The gist is that when it comes to Astras, nobody has them beat. They’ve invented basically most of the spells, came up with category systems for mantra users in an already complex power system, made a category and class system for the Astras as well, AND revolutionized the way it’s taught and learned. Alongside many other scientific achievements.
They have to be wary though as info about mantra’s are banned and they don’t want to attract the eye of a certain political group they can’t mention in name, they’ll get genocided for that.
It’s basically like “Wow this magic society is so cool, it feels like there’s something more to this than meets the eye.” and then an Elder Eif is like “Nah don’t worry about that, absolutely nothing to see here whatsoever. Just for that you get demoted in whiteness, enjoy your life as a Teif and therefore second class citizen loser lmao”
Speaking of Teifs, we have to mention their relationship to the Astras as well. The Astra’s 2 morality sides are incredibly complex and would be better explained in the power system post, but the simplification is that: The Astra’s have a weird caste system for the magic and the Magical Eif beings, like humans in real life, justified racism using it by completeling copying the heirarchy.
The Eifs use the white magic and the Teifs use the black magic. The white and black magics do have differences that will make itself apparent later on, but using black magic doesn’t make you inherently evil or anything. It’s just a weird Eif social construct.
The Eifs and Teifs: Culture
As a society they really prioritize social order. Imagine Japan’s social Society and work ethic with gothic architecture and magitech (They do it in a certain kind of way so things don’t fuck up, sadly this isn’t fool proof so mistakes are punished especially hard, they are punished by being downgraded to Teifs).
The Eif and Teifs relationship work somewhat like the Hemospectrum in Homestuck. I don’t feel like explaining Homestuck lore because that sounds like absolute ass so it’s a spectrum from white (Eif) to black (Teif). With each mistake or bad thing you do lowering you in the caste system.

Also the gender system is kinda crazy and wacky so stay with me. There’s the male and female sexes and whatever in between, then the entire social construct of gender right?
Well they have masculine and feminine. But it’s not based off gender and more based on Dominance/Submissiveness, it also doesn’t help that Eif/Teif males can get pregnant. So Eif couples will have an an aura-off with each other to see who gets to be the father and who is put in the mother position regardless of biological sex. It is generally common for the Teif to be the mother and the Eif to be the father.

I’m not a furry trust. I saw how Furries get shit online for no real reason and I also saw that some fantasies make anthro animals normal (Probably as escapism). Therefore I subverted it by doubling down and continuing to make them get shit on even in the fantasy world.
They’re not racist because they’re Dickheads, it’s the opposite. They are dickheads because they’re racist. Also real life racism is a lot more complicated than what you say it is.
- Humans have real life racism.
- The godlike humans from the past are pretty cool but they don’t care about race and will strike anything down that poses a threat The Mother regardless.
- Eifs are racist to others as well as themselves with a wack morality/race system.
- Spirit racism are proportional to what owns them. There is also beef between spirits originating from nature and spirits originating from manmade objects.
- Robots are not really that racist in the grand scheme of things they’re just used as cannon fodder for war by JC who MIGHT be racist.
- The Furries might be racist but they’ve only existed for 150 years so they’ve made no significant impact.
- The Imps hate everyone that isn’t themselves.

that’s objectively an incorrect description then. I’m quite certain “male/female” in regards to animals refers to roles in reproduction, meaning that Eifs and Teifs are one of those animals that have both reproductive systems, like those slug species that duel each other when they meet with things I cannot describe on this forum. There’s no “male” or “female” Eifs/Teifs if this is how they work. I know the whole thing is The Author’s Thinly-Veiled Fetish so it’s irrelevant but given how weird this whole point is that, seriously, you don’t have any need to include in your world at all, I felt like being obtuse with semantics.
