Theory on the Chapter 9 Boss and future story predictions

My friend recently showed me this interesting reddit post, which got me thinking: Is the newest boss somehow related?

In the original image, it’s quite blurry and hard to make out. It might not even be a ship, could just be an island. But for the sake of this theory we’re going to assume it is an Ironclad.

For the theory itself: The new weapon/key item bossdrop is called “Siderros”, which means “metal”. If the new boss WAS actually an agent of Thorne, then it would make sense for their items to be named after metal due to Thorne Empire’s focus into industry and technological prowess. Perhaps they are a lieutenant that we fight aboard the Ironclad.

This theory by itself was fine by me. But the more I thought about it, the more I wondered how this would all tie into future chapters.

So, here is my wild, crackhead prediction on Chapter 9+ and why the hell we would even fight an Ironclad:

  • After we leave Skyhall, we return to the outside world to see that the Nimbus Sea is in total chaos. Taking advantage of the vulnerability of Sameria and Ravenna in the chaos of the new war, Thorne starts to invade to take what few pickings they can until Keraxe fully wipes out Sameria.
  • Since we’re still allied with Sameria, we regroup with a few key characters and help repel the invading forces. We board Thorne’s Ironclad, and defeat the captain (or one of the lieutenants at least), forcing them to retreat/abandon their ship.
  • The conflict in the Nimbus sea attracts the other kingdoms, and also causes criminal activity to soar. Dozens of different parties try to take advantage of the situation in the Nimbus sea, which causes the Grand Navy to act.
  • The King Admiral and Admiral Ismenios show up to check up on things and prevent them from getting any worse, but the conflict just continues to escalate without any end in sight.
  • By the final Chapter, Wotan shows up. The involvement of the other kingdoms forces him to act and settle things as quickly as possible.
  • Warren appears and wards Wotan off, since at this point a war between the entire War Seas is almost inevitable he can’t keep shying away from conflict.

Okay, now that the sane stuff is out of the way, here is my wildest ‘prediction’ for Nimbus (on the condition that the initial Ironclad theory is true):

  • After we fully defeat the Thorne Ironclad, Samerian forces hijack the ship and use it to combat enemy forces.
  • This comes into play during the final chapter. We will use the power of steampunk technology to defeat Keraxe by RAMMING THE IRONCLAD STRAIGHT INTO THE FENRIR , which will then set the stage for the final fight of Nimbus against one of the Sons of Wotan, who we will defeat with the help of other characters such as Akeem, Morden, and etc…
  • The death of one of his sons will be the catalyst for Wotan’s arrival, and from there we will get the cutscene that Vetex has been hyping up for over a year.

TL;DR

I SNORTED 500 GRAMS OF KETAMINE !!

hell yeah, can’t wait to enact vehicular manslaughter before it even became a conceivable crime to commit

seriously though, this is pretty feasible, and it ties the confirmed happenings in pretty well

just… maybe next time cut back on the ketamine a little

I know its the “insane theory” portion of it but i doubt we’d outright kill a son of wotan, mostly because that’d mean wotan would go full force on us and you know everyone thats not absolutely necessary is going to die at that point and it’d steer the story farther away from the order than it currently already has been steered

They didn’t make the number yet, because you’ve ascended with this one.

I can’t for the life of me see a ship there

It just looks like pretty flat island with some hills and trees

You need to ingest some ketamine.

Unless the leader of the Order is basically Aizen and uses Wotan’s entire bloodline to power level us as the MC.

This is what no FR does to a community

one of us one of us one of us one of us one of us

Bro cooked an AWE tier meal

John Chapter9Boss

John Ironclad

except you forgot the fact that by chapter 9 vetex already completely turned arcane oddysey into an arg and instead of fighting the new boss we’ll access external media to collect pages and unveil the mysteries of the arcane world and why does vetex take so long to update his game

well lets count off the builds that our bosses have had

3 conjs (lord elyius and the acid guy, also capt maria)

1 mage (iris)

1 warlord (argos)

1 jug (carina)

1 warrior (King Calvus)

so vetex will probably add a boss that isn’t one of these which will probably be a oracle or paladin of some sorts, anything to do with spirit. (pls correct me if i am wrong about any of these bosses)

Calvus is a savant, he uses iron leg for 1 move as well as aether magic

Crackhead theory but what if the curse user we fight is General Akeem. He’s by far the most likely to be order-related (of the Samerian high ups), has a curse, and will probably fight against a son of Wotan.

He throws hands with that son, then after their fight is over presumably with the Son forced to retreat, we find out Akeem is infact an order member (beforehand maybe?) and jump him while he’s still weak from his duel.

I’d say him dying is more likely than a son of Wotan because of the reasons already said here (Wotan would crash out)

oh. you are correct, ty

i always just assumed that the aether magic was a curse for some reason lol

john skyhall vs john siderros

Akeem is too strong, if he can keep up with a Son of Wotan then we won’t be able to touch him unless we’re assuming he’s crippled from a previous fight. The curse user bossfight is by level 180, which is around Chapter 10 and that’s way too early for a High Lord fight considering the Nimbus Story is meant to end by Chapter 11 or 12.

I’ve explaied my reasoning to danft on discord, but I’ll elaborate more here. Wotan really doesn’t give a shit about his sons, his ‘love’ is completely conditional

Yes, the death of one of his sons will be a blow to his pride. But when a tool breaks on you, you discard it. I don’t see any reason why Wotan wouldn’t do the same, I doubt he would get overly emotional or irrational over one of his ‘tools’ breaking down.

Plus, my original assumption with this theory was that Warren would immediately come over to counter Wotan before he could wipe out Sameria.
