Somebody used a Hecate shard to create a magic based off the flame of a phoenix? I don’t really see the issue here
Sun magic was described as nuclear fire, aka the actual sun itself. meanwhile flare magic is based off of solar electromagnetic phenomena which happen to carry off solar material, but also other things like highly charged particles.
Phoenix lore originated in 800bc, so it’s not impossible to imagine somebody deciding to create that magic since it clearly is useful in theory and practice.
Except water and grease don’t explode when they touch each other. It’s more like water and sodium, then you throw a combination of the two that only reacts when it touches something.
You’re suddenly telling us that Vetex mistook ancient dragon/ancient spear lightning for ancient lightning? It isn’t even cool without the context of ER too…
Ancient lightnings lore reason is a lightning conj decided to create the most generic lost magic possible so they could continue being inconceivably mid.
Flare is a magic that is focused on good DoT low impact. If I had to guess, sun is the opposite, with fire being the middle grounds of these two and plasma being closer to flare then sun. Ancient Lightning is likely lightning or condensed lightning but uses a sorta older way of using it, so prob high impact little slower.
Phoenix you have a point, although if you go off the mixing of magic, phoenix is just fire and regeneration. Likely just called phoenix because of its similar properties
