the PK could be considered higher than Theos, 4 and 5 are interchangeable depending on the point of the story / your perspective
My argument for why Theos gets the edge is Theos was able to cash against Curse Users when he was well “elderly” and his prime was considered “strong as cursebeard”. Even though the statement of him being near Cursebeard’s level is obviously just an in universe statement saying people considered Theos strong, but during this time there were still ALOT of people who were alive to see the Golden Age of Magic and the Gods, due to magic giving extended lifespans, so I assume Theos was considered a once per 100 generational talent.
And also the PK doesn’t have any confirmed Curses except for the Absorption so erm… But yeah, you can say the PK is 4, depends on if we’re looking at this from a WoM perspective or not
Agreed, Theos is exceptionally powerful, probably the most naturally gifted non-curse user in the series besides the Peacekeeper themselves due to taking a 500 year bath in magic water. However I’d also place PK above Cursebeard simply because Acheron , through Zeus, killed him and then the PK proceeded to solo them both. Also, the absorption curse is mentioned to be able to destroy cursed through a technique learned from Hades, but we don’t know whether or not this works in a battle, but I thought it would be worth mentioning.
the issue is is that it doesn’t fucking matter if “oh he has zero feats he can’t be that strong!” because he just IS. It doesn’t matter if you don’t think the wood curse can be very strong (spoiler alert, it’s probably one of the strongest of the base magic curses if not stronger than multiple lost magic curses) because the sole source of correct information, the devs, have said that Wotan is possibly the strongest in the war seas. It doesn’t matter if you disagree. Wotan just IS strong, and that’s that.
He did get sad and give up, but I doubt thats the sole reason he was defeated. The lore doc puts it like this: “From the sheer power of the undead god, the nature of the attack, and Arthur’s broken spirit after defeating the crew he had built up over hundreds of years, he was defeated”. I took it as being a combination of these things, but I guess it’s up to interpretation.
The name John Thorne makes me laugh every time I hear it. It’s not even a bad name. Its just he fact that not only is his first name John, but his last name is literally the name of his empire reminds me of all the John Halo, John Warhammer, John Your-mom memes.
