Those Keraxe Potions

So we’ve all seen in the Fenrir section of the story that the Keraxe Army has these potions that make them absurdly powerful and berserker-like, though it appears to come at the cost of putting the consumer’s body into overdrive to the point of potential death from overexertion. (Speculation of side effects, since both instances of the potion being used ended up with the player killing them, and based on the fact we see steam emanating from their bodies alongside their skin becoming more red).

I am very curious how Keraxe makes these potions, and I also wonder if the Order had a hand in it… I got curious cause it was similar to lore I wrote for two of my AO OCs regarding berserker-like powers, though theirs is tied to divine bloodline and their blood acts as the reagent for said potion in that lore.

Based on the color scheme I would speculate that they get these reagents from the Dark Sea, but now I remember Vetex said that nobody in the lore goes there, even despite Wotan’s interest in it. So uh, idk.

I am kinda dissapointed that they didn’t add any information about non-gameplay potions like Skyhall’s magic disease poison (it is not blood disease cuz different reagent used) and those Keraxe’s berserker-rage potions in Athena’s book. It is kinda strange to see Athena knowing a lot of lore stuff, but then she writes a completely gameplay-wise page as if she forgot all her wisdom at once.

Potions recipe might come from the nirvana blessing/curse wotan kidnapped that curse user if im not mistaken for the part of making the potions its tied to drawback mechanic it seems(based on color and overdriving body) maybe a sea monster that exist in keraxe kingdom can give the main reagent tho i dont think they will let us use these potions

If that hadn’t changed that is, especially given the new quests and what not regarding the dark sea

Like at this point if it still was that “nobody goes there” then vetex would just be shooting himself in the foot.. Seeker’s of Sight might aswell not be canon at all if no one goes there

Cazal’s knowledge is tied to chaos connecting him to potentially thousands of figures from warseas dark sea so while seekers of sight might have to do with dark sea they might not venture there and it still makes sense

I have not seen a lot of mention of the Nirvana Blessing. What does that one do again?

To my knowledge it gives vast amounts of knowledge in all topics to the person that has it first holder was merlin and he gone mad under the burden of knowledge

Wait a minute, that sounds familar. It was called the Wisdom Blessing instead of the Nirvana Blessing. Sudden name change?

multiple blood disease also makes your body release steam so yea if not dead they will probably be severely weakeneded afterward and may die if dont have healing or some shit

Well i think i saw it in the part where nilah gives us the update on condition of war so im not sure names changed i dont have the footage of dialogue tho

Ok i found it current user died fightning to wotan

Wisdom Blessing Merlin Ambrosius Edric Gives the user supernatural wisdom, insight, and cunning. This allows them to access a unique variation of sensing that can be used to predict outcomes or possibilities. Given to Merlin by Athena.

Absorbed by Edric under unknown circumstances, the current status of this Blessing is unknown after Edric’s death fighting Wotan.

Yeah that makes sense. I’d imagine its not guaranteed death, but these soldiers seem to live for battle. They’ll likely fight to their last breath anyway even if it kills them.

They dun found a shortcut to achieving the advance

I was more of referencing the quests he has you do

What if those potions are made from a modified wraithvine?
It boosts ones power at the cost of lifespan and temper

what if they got some wraithvine and did some mass farming projects to hopefully grow some small mutations (like how peppers keep getting spicier)

Or it could be wraithvine and some other unknown ingredient that boosts the power boost effect by drawing up your own magic/trace magic reserves, causing it to be much more taxing on the body

is this inspired by the thing where vikings got high on mushrooms

I call cap on Vetex’s statement, there’s no way us the player are the only people who go in the Dark Sea. When you sail in there, there are abandoned ships that drift around you can loot from. Those ships should’ve been sunk by now with how worn they look and the brutal conditions of the dark sea. Those ships have to be not too long in there. But then that means the bodies aboard wouldn’t be skeletons then. But who knows. Also, regardless of dangerous conditions, some people would actually attempt to venture in there despite the conditions. Especially groups like the Order of Aesir and the Seekers of Sight. Heck, some kingdoms might send teams down there to gather powerful stuff to improve their military strength no doubt.

Watch Vetex say later that there was a group of madlads that went in anyways after too many pints of rum

Okay, so uh, I tried searching for that sentence everywhere and for some reason I couldn’t find it. Maybe it was in patreon. The closest I could get is his words from QnA

So, the original point remains correct, since it is unlikely for anyone to go there for reagents that are used in so big amounts that basically every mid-high rank Keraxe warrior gets potion made of it. Yet, I apologize for the misinformation I brought.

Interesting to think about, since Wraithvine combined with a rare toxic flower from the sea creates Agraveritae, which causes Mageskin Disease.
