how would clan bank size work for crews then, so that crews would also have access to building?
I didn’t think about this before, but I’d probably just increase the bank size by like 200k per member? 3,000,000 seems like enough
If youre in a clan and don’t want to blunder their infamy gain - knowing how to PvP is essential whethr it’s intended or not. Moreover, as weird as it sounds, there is also a huge PvE-Element to clans (mostly pre-empires) which a lot of PvE players fail to understand because they’re not in the position of someone in a bigger clan.
Building isn’t PVP exclusive thou, you could blame vetex for it’s lack of PVE but even if we got more PVE it would be very open for PVE players to use
my problem with this statement is that even if you know how to pvp, if your build is bad (not just armor but I’m seeing ice sailors users or even just warlocks in general outdamaging me no matter what) then you’re not going to have a good time
i get you entirely but deep down i also feel as if anything is playable aslong as you’re good enough for it

i also agree that anything is playable, but playable doesn’t always mean competitively viable
viability shouldn’t turn people away when pursuing proficiency in what they want to use
true, and I want to use water magic with lightning as secondary with a size build, but it feels like i don’t do nearly enough damage to make it worth it
ive ran this (on size aswell lmao) and it deals more than enough damage, are you sure it isn’t just your playstyle not taking advantage of synergies?
that might be it, i’m noticing that i’m having trouble with swapping between magics and overrelying on my water magic
the synergy is also going to be nerfed in the future if bteam has their way
dw i had this same problem for mage for a long time - and later on with weapon builds because swapping between 3-4 things is well frustrating
may aswell take use of the synergy being good whilst it lasts by proccing hits on lightning whilst enemies are soaked
it just feels a little silly to me that my water explosions aren’t doing as much damage as i feel they should be
maybe i should just swap back to ult art self explode double shockwave
Try playing savant for a while, you’ll learn to swap between your tools during combat very naturally.
My main issue with clans (and thus competitive players) is the massive benefit you get from them and all the stuff you’re locked out of if you aren’t part of one.
I want to have a colored ship name, I want access to building mechanics, I want to be able to group up all my friends and have all of us benefit from each other’s grinding even if we’re in completely different servers.
I do not want to be locked into servers filled with people that are so bored out of their mind that they can’t figure to do anything but gank everyone they see.
I do not want to have to worry about an arbitrary leaderboard number (infamy).
I will happily grind for these things and put forward the effort to earn them, I just don’t want to be tied to a part of the community that I want nothing to do with.
Much less used as an “infamy bag” for the scumbags that refer to people that way.
I don’t want to PvP to raise the leaderboard number, I want to PvP for fun and all this other junk just bogs it down.
Tl;Dr : I wish the competitive part of clans was completely separate from the actual benefits of being in a clan.

don’t swap your build just keep playing what you’re playing to adjust to what YOU want whilst enjoying the build YOU picked
Are you talking to me? I have 7 different files, experimenting with different builds is the only thing that keeps me playing the game lately.
Been trying to get back into AO proper these last couple days.
On repeat been shut down by sweaty assholes with nothing better to do.
Its a wonder that people don’t like these guys.

Literally every time I go ingame, I am jumped, harassed, ganked, trash talked, and vultured all at once.
I’d really rather not develop trust issues because of this game’s dogshit competitive scene being so desperate for an extra couple infamy points that they’ll pretend to be my friend.
We need a PvP toggle, I’m done pretending we don’t, this shit sucks and its ruining the game.
