actually kinda crazy, i’m just in town trying out my attacks to see what does more damage and shit, it was completly fine beforehand but now i have it in the back of my mind that i am “wasting” my energy.
it’s just annoying. i still cannot believe they made the hunger system so much more annoying
i think it’s awful and replaces a feature that’s been very iconic to me
you will have to cook every time you cast a few spells early game, and with your level your appetite grows exponentially. you will never truly be full now, and you must keep eating.
it also drains this energy out of combat
the only good thing is that it increases when you aren’t playing the game although i don’t think that’s a good solution, it only makes playing the game more tedious
obviously i don’t have the privilege of playing this version of the game so this is just my opinion
another factor is that gamers love to optimize things to hell
in the current system, you can do just fine with hunger until it reaches 25, which will then start nerfing your stamina.
so in theory, you can just let your hunger run out until its 25, and then eat food, but most players (i do this) keep it constantly full so we dont have to worry about it for a long time
with this new energy bar, its the same thing. you could let it run out to 0 energy, and then refill it, but players dont want that, people are gonna want it filled up 24/7, its just better that way.
but with this new energy system your energy will be constantly going down from just doing anything, keeping it full will probably be a nightmare
No, it won’t.
Notice that the energy bar in the video is only like 750.
Getting enough food for 750 is as easy as just running around occasionally pressing E, and that’s right now, before all the new enemies in full release that specifically drop big food chunks are added, before the fleet system lets you gather food in mass automatically.
It feels a bit forced and removes my muscle memory, it’s not gonna be easy getting used to eating to replenish it instead of the usual “Blast” “Blast” “Blast” Charge process
I think energy costs should be divided by 10 again (make them decimal) my reason is eating an apple every time you use leap twice to explore is 100% gonna be annoying
it honestly doesnt matter if you get 900 ingredients per second in the new update, having to eat all the time to replenish after using moves is going to be annoying. its quite literally nearly identical to the hunger system we have now when you think about it
so you can afk while you claimed cassia for reagent and clan bank farming, also no one does macrofishing anyways
canonically i imagine the mc who is slaying curse users requires quite a heavy palette
or in addition to the 200+ apples, also get 200+ brown mushrooms, white mushrooms, and bananas and cook them to earn more efficient food plus some xp for more hunger points.
I can foresee 2+ min pvp fights or atlantean fights consume around 200-300 energy w/o the energy gem stat, which might sound daunting, but I know at least 75% of people’s session times don’t involve any combat, and don’t forget the many new meats and fruits to diversify hunger.
Dislike it, I love the thing about having a smaller mana bar and needing to recharge it quickly by strategizing instead of having a huge one and downing lots of food so it stays big.
If this goes through it’ll impact my enjoyment of the game heavily
this does not disprove anything i said, i did not say that cooking multiple meals was hard, i said that having to eat all the time will be annoying
this does not change the fact you still have to eat all the time and use resources.
this is still just the same hunger system but worse
so again, more grind, more resources to account for, and forcing the cooking mechanic onto everyone. shift recharging energy for free is perfectly fine, i dont think people will enjoy having to calculate every leap and spell used as an energy investment theyll have to pay for later with food
i don’t get everyone hating on it
it’s not that big of a deal
likely nothing will change except you’ll have to mass produce some meals every once in a while
There’ll be some tweaks to it, probably before the release, but I doubt they’ll leave it miserable for new players. Also makes cooking a lot more important, and I know that sounds annoying, but progression of certain skills is something that people should really get into, but obviously not super-duper forced.
consider that youre playing on a long time file, maxed, with tons of ingredients saved over time
new players, or even just old players making new files will struggle to make that amount of food
also, energy will deplete much faster when doing stuff and casting spells, which will likely consume all that food quicker compared to the hunger we have now
