Basically I was getting hunted while depositing chests and I used love 5 (permanent) gel on the hunter. It worked a bit but the hunter did something and the love 5 completely stopped working. My friend checked his inventory before the fight and the hunter had only moderate love potions, and the wiki states that for the love user to be overcome the attacker needs an equal level potion.
If love 5 can be countered by moderate love potions…what’s the point of love 5? Or…is this a bug?
did they use a mystery potion?
Probably not. It’s important to note they hunted my friend later too (who also used love 5) and it did the same thing. They also used gel, it worked for a bit, and then he began attacking a few moments later like nothing happened. Attacking him again did not reapply the love effect.
So, it’s extremely unlikely the hunter drank some mystery potions and got 2 love 5’s for each situation, idk, especially since he started attacking just a few seconds later after noticing the love gel effects

No unfortunately, gotta take my word for it, I have no idea how he was able to overcome love 5 twice

On a serious note, maybe he drank a love pot when the effect ran out. I never tested for myself if lower-tier self-love blocks the higher-potency love effect, but it wouldn’t be too far-fetched considering the amount of oversight on the tester’s part for allowing the surge+gale combo to exist.
I think it’s probably that. Someone should test it

My friend just tested it with their friend and confirmed that a tier 1 pinecone love potion can indeed block a tier 5 love potion.
How did this get past testing…?
The very competent tester team didn’t see that one coming, or that one, or that one either.

Pretty sure vetex scrapped the idea of love block having tiers, and so any tier works
I mean that’s just kind of dumb…why go through the effort of getting 10 life remnants for a tier 5 when some guy can make a tier 1 love potion in 5 seconds to undo all your work?
