Tomb of Agamemnon: A Cassia Base Build

I was trying to build something on Cassia and thought of a way to make it seem like a new island. A few days ago, I saw a post about showcasing their Shale Reef build and was inspired to create one of my own. I bring to you all who opened this post, the Tomb of Agamemnon.

Tomb of Agamemnon

Lore
The Tomb of Agamemnon is an island that is surrounded by tall terrain that acts as a natural protection against the weather and the sea. The island has a settlement in the middle with a bustling market among merchants and consumers of the like. An old royal family reigns over its former glory with their castle keep overlooking the people.

Behind the settlement lies the old king’s tomb that burrows deeper into the Earth’s mantle, some could say it goes as deep as the dark sea itself with how much floors it could go down for. Just like the dark sea, the deeper you go the more dangerous the environment becomes. Your body becomes heavier as you go deeper, the miasma that corrupts the air and make it harder for you to breathe, creatures that can only be seen in the depths, and many more secrets that can be discovered in the dungeon…

The Entrance To The Island
The island has two passages where ships can pass through to enter or exit the walls. The old royal family has successfully fended off their invaders of the past due to this by taking advantage of a choke position in their defense strategy.

The Ship Port
The only place for people to set foot into the settlement in the middle of the island. Ships can only unload and load here, not permitted to park their ship as many wishes to conduct their business in the island popular with adventurers. There ferries available that goes along the route of the island for those that do not own a ship.

Entrance To The Market Settlement
The main way to enter the settlement where people who have just set foot into the island are immediately enticed by the aromatic scent of the food that is set up near the entrance. People often eat there while waiting for items they have ordered from the marketplace.

Overview Of The Market Settlement
The market settlement doesn’t allow people and the like to permanently live on this island that’s bustling with business. The old royal family made it this way to always bring in new items brought by a variety of merchants, making the market always fresh with a batch of new goods to sell. People can set up camp in the market settlement with a maximum of a week.

The Path To The Castle Keep
A path that is routed to the side of the castle keep, the servants of the old royal family uses this to go to the market settlement. There are hired mercenaries stationed as well to support the castle guards in case more support is needed for protecting the old royal family.

Castle Keep Overlooking The Settlement
The castle keep of the old royal family, menacingly overlooking the settlement below them. Not many have the luxury to see them in public as they mostly lock themselves in while they order their servants to bring in new items brought by merchants. Every week or so, people can see batches of crates and barrels being lifted up as gifts from the merchants for the old royal family.

The Old King’s Tomb
The main attraction of the island, the dungeon itself. The only entrance to the abyssal tomb where guards are stationed to manage the door as adventurers delve into the challenge. Be wary as many have died while attempting the dungeon to obtain rare items…

The Dungeon Campsite
The camps where adventurers can rest in with their parties or alone. Merchants and the like aren’t permitted to sell here as it would only overcrowd the entrance. As such, adventurers must finish their preparation in the market settlement before going to the old king’s tomb.

Overview Of The Island
The terrain of the island is that of a basin landform, people way into the past have carved and terraformed two passages for them to go in and out from. Due to the island’s terrain, many invaders have failed to take over the control of the old royal family.

End Notes
The island has no cannons or mortars to allow players to explore my island. Though despite having no good defense against raiders, the island I’ve built does have a defense system that prevents it from being stolen. Though of course I am not gonna leak how it works in here to keep the success rate of defending my island as high as possible.

Anyways, I hope you guys liked my build!

HOW did you make the wooden ramps work?
I’ve been disappointed by them every single time I tried to use them (outside of wood rubble in the eirochos cave pond thing)

This terraforming is like black magic how on earth did you create flat spaces like that

PEAK!!!

I adore how densely decorated the Market Settlement is, it’s so cool! Really feels busy and jam-packed with stuff. It’s lived in.

I also love the lore you provided. It’s quite mysterious how reclusive the royals are… Do they do so by choice, or is it perhaps that they’re tending to something so important they can’t turn their attention away from it for even a moment? :eyes:

The deceased king is very interesting as well… I wonder if he was a curse user, or possessed by Chaos? There’s definitely some evil forces at play here. I’d love to see a continuation of the mystery as more hints and riddles unfurl, perhaps even a written story about someone venturing into the crypts.

Beautifully built overall, and a lovely post! I can’t tell you how much I hope to see more build showcases from people. Let’s see this community’s creativity shine :hugs:

You made me realize why I wanted to go back to AO on empires update but stayed just for a short term. I aint grinding all that money as the only active member of clan

I just made it so that I terraformed with the same height of the wooden ramps. To be honest, I wish Vetex adds stairs that continuously adds more steps depending on the height, similar to the wooden ladder.

Took advantage on how you can stack terrains, pretty much carefully positioned them to the side so that there’s very little gap to make it took a decently sized flat area.

Also use another terrain to effectively use the size of the terrain, then delete that after you’ve placed the terrain to have more available terraform options. I recommend using another terrain for the extender, so that you know what you’re gonna delete.

Thanks! If it wasn’t for your showcase post, I wouldn’t have had the idea to share my build as well. Made the lore fit the Arcane Odyssey theme as much as possible since I wanted to make it seem like it can exist in its universe. As you’ve guessed, the former king is a curse user and he used his curse to go deeper in the Earth in hopes of finding something but ultimately met his end in there.

No one knows what his curse was as the old royal family kept it a secret, meaning only the royal family knows the secrets that the crypt has but they refuse to go in there. Overall, I’m satisfied with how I made the island!

I’m very glad I could inspire you. I like the lore a lot, the idea of a crypt that goes as deep down as the ocean is wide, is so haunting. I mean, a dark descent downward with a seemingly endless pit is scary enough as is, but to this extent? Horrifying.

I wanna theorize that the king had the Poison Curse and specialized in making all manner of unique and unheard-of toxins, some of which could cause severe mutations and break minds. That would explain the miasma and the creatures, I think. Or perhaps he had the Life Curse and was performing sinister experiments on living things.
