Top 10 Reasons Why The Rusty Can Is Superior To The Sunken Sword

Hello, fellow Arcane Odyssey players. Welcome to my top 10 reasons why the Rusty Can is impossibly more useful, valuable, and powerful than the Sunken Sword! The Sunken Sword being more valuable than the rusty can is a common trader misconception that seems to be very widespread right now. I’ll explain to you guys how to see past this manipulation :eye:.

Reason 1 :chart_with_upwards_trend:
Obtaining a Sunken Sword is much more difficult and tedious a task than that of obtaining the Rusty Can. Both are obtained by fishing, but Rusty Cans are far more common. Because of this, Rusty Cans are much more available than Sunken Swords, while also being much more useful (As explained later). This completely invalidates any excuse Sunken Swords users may spew during interrogation.

Reason 2 :male_detective:
Not only are Sunken Swords more difficult to obtain, they’re neigh-impossible. At every common fishing spot in The War Seas, there are actually several wizards in hiding, using their edgy powers to cloak their aura. Whenever you reel in a sunken sword, they will jump, kidnap, and rip the Sunken Sword from your dead body’s inventory. Why? Scientists theorize these people belong to different trading sectors in large guilds, all of which are blinded by the Sunken Sword’s “value”.

Reason 3 :moneybag:
Sadly, Sunken Swords are worth much more when you sell them than Rusty Cans when trading with the average misinformed trader; the Sunken Sword’s rarity is what makes it so incorrectly revered by the community. However, the far larger amount of Rusty Cans you will fish up compared to Sunken Swords make rusty cans more valuable, no matter who you’re selling them to.

Reason 4 :brain:
Due to the trader misconception aforementioned, a very small (and woke) minority wants Rusty Cans. Due to this, you can acquire a very large amount of Rusty Cans through trading with uninformed individuals. Once people start to learn the real value of Rusty Cans, you will now have a lot of them, and will be infinitely richer than Bill Gates.

Reason 5 :crossed_swords:
We will now go over the different combat uses of a Sunken Sword and the Rusty Can.

  • The Sunken Sword constantly emits water, leaving a trail wherever you go that enemies can find. Not only this, it slips out of your hand. Rusty cans do not do this, making them infinitely more viable in the average PvP situation.

  • Sunken Swords do a very low amount of damage compared to Rusty Cans. It is shown that Sunken Swords retain their shape over their time in the ocean. Rusty Cans, however, will crack and chip, forming much sharper edges.

  • Rusty cans appear much less dangerous in a PvP scenario, allowing you to take advantage of your foe’s underestimation of your Rusty Can.

  • Rusty cans can utilize a very old battle technique. Simply hold it in front of you when the opponent jabs with any thin, bladed weapon, and the blade will get caught inside. All you have to do from here is to twist the can to the left or right, disarming your opponent. Use your Rusty Can to counterattack.

  • Rusty Cans are brown, the color of dirt and some rock. The Sunken Sword is a bright, standing out blue. This makes it so Rusty Cans can blend in much better with their environment in most situations, besides fighting in water.

  • The Sunken Sword has an ability named Rising Tide, where you spin around, spraying water on your opponent. The Rusty can has an alternative that costs much less stamina, with no cooldown. Simply scoop up water, and spin around fast. Since we’re on islands, there’s always water nearby to use.

  • Using a Rusty Can as a weapon (as long as it’s true potential is unknown by most) grants you a lot of respect. Sometimes, your reputation can be the line between life and death.

  • The Rusty Can is far smaller than the Sunken Sword, allowing you to conceal it with ease, unlike the Sunken Sword. This can give you the upper hand in resourceful combat.

  • In the situation you fight a curse user, filling a Rusty Can with irradiated water, approaching them, and splashing it in their face is a much easier tactic than running up with a wet metal stick (AKA Sunken Sword Eww!).

Reason 6 :moyai:
:scream::cold_face::crazy_face:

Reason 7 :eyeglasses:
Rusty Cans can be used to mimic something else in trading. This is called “Fish Bait”. Because of their similar looks, it’s quite easy to dupe an uninformed fisher into buying a large amount of Rusty Cans from you. Your newfound wealth can be used to buy more Rusty Cans, and thus repeat the cycle.

Reason 8
Before everybody sees this post, go out and give many rusty cans to individuals. Once this post becomes more popular, everyone will see the true gift you have given them. Your reputation will raise the roof, and you will be appointed to sainthood.

Reason 9 :hammer_and_wrench:
It’s no surprise by now that the Rusty Can is a far superior weapon to the Sunken Sword. But it should come to no surprise that it has far more utility uses. Please examine the below based information.

  • Rusty Cans have been soaked in Magic Irradiated waters for hundreds, if not thousands of years, making them far more powerful than normal metal. This goes for Sunken Swords as well (But that’s besides the point). Armor can be forged out of them with much more ease than you can with a Sunken Sword.

  • Since Sunken Armor makes you wet, and nobody likes that, the previous bullet point remains standing.

  • Rusty Cans can be stacked on top of each other. This has many different utilities. First, the step ladder. This can be used to get to higher places, especially taking advantage of Rusty Cans’ abundance. Make sure the cans you will step on are not sharp. If you try to step on a Sunken Sword to reach a higher place, it’s usually unpleasant.

  • Rusty Cans can be used as spyglasses. Simply look through one, with an open top and bottom to instantly be granted pirate status. You cannot look through sunken swords.

  • Rusty Cans can be arranged in a way that when viewed above, makes art. Because of the Sunken Sword’s irregular shape, it’s unable to do the same.

  • By placing two Rusty Cans on the ends of a string, you can create a telephone. This is foreign technology to Magius, and therefore you will be revered throughout the land. You will obtain millions of crowns and several peace prizes.

  • Finally, the most important reason… Rusty Cans can hold things. Besides being superior in PvP, this is an extremely advantageous trait for something to hold. For example, hold worms for fishing, water or food for consumption, and more. This gives it both a title of the best weapon and the modern convenience of storage. You probably have a lot of Rusty Cans, so they make the best storage.

For example, imagine you’re in a bar, drinking fine wine out of your Rusty Can. An intruder breaks in and demands every single one of your Rusty Cans. You don’t even have to switch to your weapon, simply finish drinking and annihilate the buffoon.

  • Sunken Swords cannot contain items.

Reason 10 :convenience_store:
Rusty cans are a great place to store your valuables. Since it’s simply a rusty can, in a non-suspicious place, they are very unlikely to touch or use it. Simply insert items of worth like crowns, jewels, or LEGO™ bricks in the can, and leave it anywhere as long as you want. You will always come back finding it untouched. This is unlike Sunken Swords, which will always be stolen if you leave them out, and cannot contain LEGO™ bricks.

By now, I hope I have thoroughly convinced to you the true worth and value of the Rusty Can, truly, the most undervalued item in the game. So easy to access, so convenient, advantageous, and powerful. All hail the Rusty Can empire.

All hail the almighty Rusty Can!

You forgot to mention how if you put a string on two rusty cans then you already have invented a machine similar to the telephone. If you enlarge this then you can transmit messages from cities in a fraction of the time at a square root of the cost. Just like that you can have a system more advanced than 99% of stuff in lore. This is big.

It’s also worth mentioning you cannot do this with Sunken Swords.
