Total Game Revamp Details

Kinda sad about npcs and stuff but still hype. I am sure that it will be an enjoyable experience either way…plus the biweekly update schedule will keep the game fresh and alive

It takes 50 seconds in a straight line from iron to summer. I loved stumbling upon hidden parts of the maps (like the statues or the tomb which you need to break into using your magic to get the chests, or the underwater maze) and NPC’s, a villain or hero, or an occasional miniboss. That’s huge immersion and I like the soundtracks. WoM is NOT a walking simulator.

Yeah. I loved the idea of flight spells. Maybe just make them cost a lot of stamina, meaning you can’t fly from island to island without falling into the ocean?

maybe we could keep the boss items as some sort of extra item
or we could just delete em and get the boss weapons/items of the new storyline

I know you are adding boats, but you could make flying spells really high level like, hover unlockable at lvl 1000, and actual flight at lvl 3k maybe, flight spells weren’t a bad idea but you do you my friend

Why don’t you make a event where the bosses fight and at the end the clash and the land splits into islands and killing the two bosses on the process

Can you add back the moving npc though my dude except for the shop keepers

Map
These are great changes. Just hoping each island is big with verticality to them so it’s fun to actually move around in them and explore.

Boats
Finally some fun transportation. No more walking in a straight line and now getting on a boat with a lot more fun obstacles.

Lore and Time Period Changes
Pretty interesting time period that has been chosen. Allows you to make the game be island-based but still new.

Storyline Focus
Kinda interesting how you went back to the linear like format of AA. I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing but hopefully it’s less straight forward then go from one island to another.

Cultures
Great change. The culture system was heavily flawed and should’ve been removed ages ago.

Quests
Still feel like they could have kept the random quests somewhere. Overall I don’t think this is a bad thing but yeah

Other

  • Finally optimization
  • Sharks are cool, but what about new creatures?
  • Whirlpools better not be glitchy
  • Revamped lighting and skies sounds really interesting
  • Temperature finally
  • Mobile compatibility unsure how to feel. I guess fine but might be time consuming
  • Lost spells already have a sort of hate towards how everyone getting the same lost spells will be the same, at the same time it creates some variety.

Schedule
Interesting… I’d honestly say perhaps 3 weeks just so things don’t get rushed.

Overall
Yea things seem good just make sure this update isn’t rushed

That’s a nono. Unobtainable items from what was quite literally a different game will not go over well with new players.

Most of this seems fine, but I REALLY can’t see myself liking the new map. Making the game an Arcane clone is pretty bland to me. The “entire map is a bunch of small islands” thing has been done to death on Roblox and elsewhere. Not only that, but the problems that is intended to address can be solved in other ways while still keeping the map relatively continental or at the very least in larger islands or a “fragmented continent” type design.

This very scarily echoes the “overhaul update” Vesteria had that, as Berezaa himself predicted, completely killed (and in my opinion ruined) the game. Considering how unique and cool WoM and its ideas (both old and new) are, I really don’t want that to happen here.

EDIT; I feel I should also mention that multiple issues or possibly negative things that haven’t necessarily manifested yet that are planned weren’t mentioned, and ones that in my opinion are as or more dire than the ones vetex cites here.

on the bright side, getting from one place to another wont be much of a pain anymore now that we have boats

Gonna be honest, I disapprove of this for a couple reasons.
1: It’ll be the same walking simulator thing if we ever get a particularly large island, and I honestly hope we get atleast a couple particularly large islands.
2: Flight spells are cool.

As long as its not the AG, I’m fine with it.
Their whole deal bothered me because of how contradictory they were.
They delivered peace about as much as suncry.

This makes me genuinely sad, I could understand this with the shop owners and important story characters specifically, but every non-enemy?

Negative rep towns? This sounds like negative rep towns, I like it.
As for the events, as long as it doesn’t give everybody a notification like
"A GROUP OF [insert group here] PIRATES HAVE APPEARED AT [Insert island here]!!!"
then I imagine it’ll be great.

Seriously though, this is going to be amazing, I have no doubts.

Well banks would be a nice addition too real quick before you cut the focus on shop buildings
since its pretty essential if you aren’t a guild owner.

You’re the creator of both games, why would anybody have an issue with this?

A couple questions though:
1: Would it be possible for you to move the existing WoM over to a different place for people to play? Preferably without a level cap at all and the like.
I know it would most likely never receive updates, but it’d be nice to have on the side.
2: Does this mean that curses will be prevalent in the lore again, as they basically just became plot armor to keep a certain few characters from AA alive during the current game.
3: Would it be possible to keep atleast some regular NPC movement without tanking performance? I honestly can’t imagine WoM towns (or should I say AO towns?) with pure AA style NPCs, it wouldn’t feel right.
