I don’t think sky root is supposed to spawn necessarily underneath the cloud itself, the description saying that is probably because it’s a root which grows “underground”. It has a similar spawning to regular askew roots which I think is intentional

nah I’m very certain it literally says “grows under island clouds”
regardless it doesn’t actually grow on any sky islands, only stepstones

It’s probably glitched though because if it did spawn above islands it would have been found by now
Nvm I found it, it is on Cryonical’s brewing video, he says it occasionally floats above sky islands clouds

tbh i can just hop into the dark sea smoke go in the dark sea for 2 seconds back to the caravel regen for full health repeat
since you can actually escape the dark sea if ur quick enough
