Even though AO is a story driven RPG, translating things like objects, menus, UIs, etc… is way more important since this is where the players will get most things to, well, play the game
But the very important stuff is a very low quantity of text, easily translatable
Well when I said object naming, I wasn’t really talking about that, but literally how the naming seems to work in game.
A quick example:
Powerful Atlantean Sailor Shirt
Would become roughly translated in French
Haut de Marin Atlante Puissant

In some other languages, adjectives are not placed before the noun, and it is actually a problem, 'cause in game, you have an item, then if it’s modified, the game will just add the adjective and apply the modifs to the items, it doesn’t replace the current item by another one (well I hope this is the case because else it’s just wasted storage space).
With the example I took, it would work in any case, but I tried some others and it became more difficult to make them work in any case possible
I speak French too and :
Puissant Atlant Haut de Marin
is still undestandable, even tho not perfect
What about the lag?
We know that Arcane Odyssey optimization is shit, but will loading like 5 other languages worth of text improve it?
French doesn’t work like this
You choose the language, Roblox “replaces” (for you) the original by the one you choosed
Lag won’t be a problem
Je sais que le syntaxe n’est pas correct, mais c’est compréhensible, or c’est bien plus simple de le coder ainsi qu’avec une syntaxe francaise correcte, c’est mieux que rien.

Also, it’s not because it’s harder to write it in a correct French that you can just go like “meh, I guess they can understand it like that”, it’s just a proof of laziness

It’s not really a question about harder, making it adapt to the French syntaxe would mean rewritting the entire system, and that would also be the case for alot of other languages
That kind of is the argument for not translating ao yes thank you
