Translating AO

When is translate AO getting a translation ? Because it’s pretty heavy text game, the spells/techniques too… And other stuff, so when?

never

:-1:

Oh wow those are some quick responses, but anyway, you don’t want to see the game grows ? Imagine if it was accessible for the russian kids… Or litterally anyone that isn’t english or american

it’s not that I don’t wish for that to happen, it’s because if I recall correctly vetex literally said the game will never get a translation because of how many text there is.

also not everyone who speaks English is American or English.

Ok but still, he should revise his code to make it auto-translate at least (despite how bad it is)

For me, it’s an accessibility feature, it’s like of you don’t put an epilepsy warning, because it’s too hard to code it.

Translating things to another language isn’t a luxury anymore, just go on Chat GPT and it’ll do it just fine

too much work
if roblox wasnt so specific with whats auto translated, it wouldnt be an issue

honestly I’d gladly translate Arcane Odyssey bit by bit for free if I had the chance. (I’d do it for free too.)

Me too ngl, but who’s going to check ?

idk man

If we ever produce something, should it be ready to be paste in his code ? Like we code a menu to select the language, or something like that ?

I honestly don’t know how any of this would work. I’d just translate the stuff.

But yeah a “Choose your language” is a good idea.

Too much text + hiring and working with a translator is something vet doesnt want to do

I AM russian. Most people in the world on average can speak English. (don’t you dare say some crap like Mandarin is the most spoken language in the world so why isn’t it the language the game is in??? because if you got teleported to a random country in the world you’re much better off speaking in English)

Also it’s nothing to do with code Vetex isn’t YandareDev, it’s the sheer text ingame because vetex actually cares about making a world, ChatGPT isn’t gonna translate everything properly man you vastly overestimate it’s power.

Even then English IS the most spoken language in the world, there’s plenty of people who learns english just by being in English Social Media

English is so widespread that it’s like most of the reason countless small languages die out constantly

I’m gonna say some things

This statement isn’t up to date anymore

Roblox has an auto translating tool included in it. But as someone who does translations (mostly for fun), I can say that Roblox’s autotranslator is the worst I’ve ever seen

Same

Already in Roblox’s menu. It’s something called “Experience language” or something like that

That’s true. However, in actually a lot of countries, the english level of Roblox’s playerbase (aka 7-14 years old, even though there’s exceptions, like me) is absolutely catastrophic. When I say “a lot of countries”, note that I’m probably exaggerating

This is sadly true. And on a completely unrelated note, Duolingo is fighting against this by learning endangered languages

Actually the game might be pretty damn easy to translate since ALL the dialogue is stored in one place in the code, he gave the dialogue code to the wiki members so from that you can easily translate it and put it back in

I think you forgot how object naming (for weapons and armors) work in this game

But that’s a much lesser quantity of text than all the dialogue prob, and less important
