Trying to make Paladin work

This thread is simple.
If anybody has experience making builds id like to hear your opinions on how paladin can be saved.

Currently this is my build.
The swift enchanted is the Apostle pauldrons
The powerful one is Mantello
Probably gonna ask @pristine cuz he has experience

Plus yes, it is a earth paladin.

what stats are given and are you running 150 magic 100 vitality?

Are you looking for more defense or power? For defense I’d say replace the mantello with a strong or hard argos helmet/cynryx faulds for added attack speed or intensity your choice. But if you want more power perhaps replace the amulet with a power amulet enchanted with nimble if you still want agility.

I can’t get on right now, so i can’t see what my paladin file looks like but I also don’t use heavy magic as my main magic unlike nearly every other paladin.
I do believe I’m using a mantello, sunken chestplate, calvus boots, defense or power amulet, and a steel helmet I plan on replacing with a crown.
I might end up looking into more attack speed but definetily not agility for my build.

Mostly damage cuz it feels like im hitting them with a wet towel, but i should’ve guessed that when i picked paladin.

I picked agility for so i can get close and use Snare/Explosion/Close range blast

what’s your second magic?

mine is Earth the main being shadow.

Fire but i was thinking of resetting it to glass

the second magic of a paladin only gives blasts and explosions right now I believe. Fire magic is much faster than Earth though it deals less damage. I recommend using fire blasts or earth beams if your enemy is far away as those are more likely to hit. Same difference with glass.

Paladin builds work well with a heavy magic and a magic that has a bit more speed.

If you still want to deal more damage on a hit but want to keep the agility amulet I recommend replacing your argos boots with calvus boots (power, agility, and attack size). Then you could disenchant the nimble amulet and enchant with strong. Remember next update every strong enchanted item you have will take a -1 penalty to its power boost.

I’l keep it enchanted for now but once dark seas drops il try looking into other enchants besides hard/power
Also yeah, it does only give you Blast and Explosion, but you can make explosion placed or self
Don’t see it as useful when you are probably better off using first magic.

stats are way too spread out tbh, you use earth so i dont think atk spd will be of any use unless really high

i suggest running calvus gears with 2 size enchantments, 1 hard and 2 power

or cernyx if you really want those atk spd, goes defense/size and power as the 3 other stats

alternatively you can just run a fck load of defense, higher defense = higher healing, even if you cant kill anyone they sure wouldnt be able to skill you :person_shrugging:

the intesnity is likely for earth aura.

It absolutely is for earth aura, i get around 1k+ health from it

All the heavy slow magics/fighting styles give lots of defense with aura/focus.

my paladin doesn’t use intensity cause I don’t focus on aura with my main magic being shadow. Its better to just grab the few seconds of a power aura for extra damage 181 → 227 blasts
or a few extra hit points from a defense aura. Thus I have no intensity

Once you do get on your paladin build, can you showcase your build as i was thinking of remaking it into fire paladin.

Also my earth blasts deal 191 dmg. I feel like something is off if the damage difference is only 10.

484 defense (1852 total hp)
90 power (188 damage shadow blasts and 198 damage earth blasts)
13 agility
49 attack size

why steel helm + whats ur magics
