Two guild ideas I had

Alright, so, while talking to my brother today about the guild update (he doesn’t play the game I was pretty much talking to myself) I thought of these two guild ideas.

One is pretty much a charity. A guild dedicated to helping out newer players. Giving out gear/Crowns to new players, teaching them some stuff, and even defending them. This could be just to help new players or just to help all kinds of players in general (like those bad at PvP (like me)). This would be a nice guild to see, especially if it got popular. I only want someone to make this guild though if it’s genuine kindness they want to spread.

Anyways, onto the next idea. This one isn’t as kind. You’d be lone sharks. That’s the point of the guild. Let’s say someone’s selling a Strong Sunken Sword for 2k (idk the economy don’t hate me) but you only have 1k. You don’t know if it’ll be there within an hour, let alone a few, and you don’t want to sell your stuff. Well you could just go to this guild, get loaned 1k crowns, then pay them back over some time or until you pay them back enough. The guild could give you 1k and expect 3k in return after a week, up to them. You get your sword, the guild gets paid. Win win for all! Unless you turn back on them, then you’re found on a ditch without your little arms or legs and organs removed. They had to make their money back somehow. Shame it had to be bloody.

tl;dr one guild gives stuff away and one guild gives out loans

Anyways, hope someone makes one or both of these guilds. I don’t want either to be corrupt, even the shady loaning one. I’d hate for the guild to just hold them by the balls and keep raising how much they owe, or shortening the time they have. Be honorable.

Alright that’s it I really need to stop procrastinating now. Hopefully someone makes these.

The second one sounds abuseable

It probably would be but honestly I don’t want it to be. It also sounds easy to scam them out of money. Say you need a 5k loan, they give you 5k, you then buy what you want/buy Fishbait and they can’t get their money back. It’s tricky to do right but hats off to anyone who could do it.

I’d be down to do the second option as more of a legitimate business. Scamming people is against the rules, if you use something like discord to communicate with the player and a contract can be agreed upon. Perhaps both sides could cover themselves if the other tries to pull something.

yeah but people would still do it
espec for high value items like sunken gear
hell, they could just use alts and trade them to their main

Yeah, I don’t want people to get scammed. I’d also want this to be legit. I only mentioned loan sharks because, I mean, if they do scam you then you might as well punish them a bit before the admins/mods get to them. I’d also want them to literally make contract-like papers for giving money to people, with people signing them to agree to this. I do want this to be as safe as possible for both parties if anyone does want to go through with it.

Dragon also has a fair point, people are scummy. I don’t imagine, however, 50+ people would be doing this. Maybe they could limit what could be given until people are trusted, it could be a method of insurance.

yes however then you run into people who will just
gradually build up “trust” until they get high level items for almost nothing

realistically, they’d barely make any profit off this to begin with
and thats not even factoring in the amount of people who just won’t repay

Yeah. It could be a literal disaster. Not like they’d be giving away items though, they’d only loan out Crowns to people. It’s not like they’ll be handing out Hard Sunken Chest pieces to people for no reason. The point of them is to help people buy those things, but yeah not paying back would be a real big issue. It’s a nice thought but ig it’d fail badly in practice, no matter how nice this would be to see this work out.

Yeah, a more legitimized way of keeping track of these things would be helpful in not coming across as a scummy lone shark.

Regarding your first option though of a charity like guild, I mentioned in another thread how I support the idea of incentivizing guilds hoarding income by placing an interest gain on cash banked. If there were such a thing in place, then it would be easier to donate to new players without making a major net loss.

Yeah I wouldn’t want them to just solely lose money from it. It’s far easier for them to make money, by fishing or quests, than it is for newer players. A good set of gear for a level 10-20 is like 200 Crowns, I can get that in 20 minutes of fishing no problem. Maybe more if my lucky rod is lucky. A lower leveled player could take an hour or two getting that much. I really want to see this, especially if it becomes popular. It’d genuinely make me happy seeing people acting selfless for other people.
