I don’t know if it’s just me, I need to know from all of you guys, is two magics redundant? It’s cool launching attacks of different magics, but I feel like that’s just what it is, just to look cool, despite the bonus dmg benefits if the two magics you’re using have good synergies.
The reason a part of me finds it redundant is because it kind of slows you down in combat when you try to perform a two magic combo for the synergy damage, there is a one to two second delay to fire a spell from your second magic after you launch a spell from your first one. Every second in combat counts, also npcs and especially players are always moving ensuring you don’t always land a synergy attack.
So I wonder, what’s the point of doing all that when the person can continue just using their first magic in combat? You will still be dealing a lot of damage to a foe as if you were using two magics as intended because you’re more focused on using the one magic and not two, allowing you to always land a hit and not be vulnerable for a split second because you’re not prioritizing using two magics in combat. Does anyone else think of that?
Later on, second magic will be a good place to keep lesser spells where your main can’t fit them. It also allows some utilities like hazards and platforms if your main didn’t do it already.
Not at all.
Not only do you get all those extra spell slots, your eecond magic can serve other purposes too, like giving you access to its flavor of arcanium or covering your first magic’s weaknesses or complimenting it with synergies.
…I don’t play mage but isn’t it the exact opposite? Aren’t cooldowns literally shorter if you swap from one magic to the other? At worst it’s the same cooldown for some spells but its definitely not slower unless you take into account being slow to tap keys.
