Uhhh how do i report a hacker?

In a nutshell i got into what would be part war and part witchhunt chasing down someone, and they did some pretty inexplicable things. I know for a fact that there are people who can outright snipe someone in ravenna from harvest, but being able to aim in one direction then actuality shoot in another (visual and hitbox not synced or smth) while im running at 100 ping with no lag seems suspicious. Finding the recording now.

Also what is the exact criteria to see if someone’s hacking? (I have no clue, I just don’t think the way he was aiming was normal)

go on the discord (discord.gg/vetex)
verify
go to #:stop_sign:-support-tickets
click player report
provide clear, unedited video evidence thats not in a wmv file (uploaded to youtube is fine)

While I wouldn’t necessarily say that this is reason to dismiss anything, know that Arcane Odyssey has some of the most horrendous desync I have ever seen.

I have fought a player (one I know with certainty to be clean), who was aiming 90 degrees away from me, hitting the ground 50 studs away, and the attack still counted as a hit.

Regardless of whether the player was cheating or not, I strongly advise you to treat every attack as if it’s perfectly aimed at you, regardless of where it appears to be going.

oh bruh i didnt even read that last part, yea thats not exploiting thats just desync. that happens to absolutely everyone; attacks directed at you from other players may not appear at the right time or the right direction, its a necessary side effect of the games combat running mostly on the client side. even on other peoples screens your attacks will be like that.

thankfully this doesnt apply to npcs

To elaborate on what desync is, in AO, player and attack positions are client based, which means if their attack hits their version of your position, a hit will be registered.
