Unlikely ideas

Anything non-human getting hunted down the moment they leave the dark seas:

Yes that is why these are unlikely ideas. Besides it’s not like Vetex can’t just edit his lore to accommodate (Downgrading hunting to just racism) or make things for gameplay purposes.

90% sure he made it like this cuz he didn’t feel like writing nuanced race relations. Although I don’t blame him since it’s an entire can of worms.

Firstly we also have leaps, and any combat system in any game ever can be simplified to moving, attacking or defending - that’s what combat is - what’s special about AO’s combat is the unique way that it can meld together.

How is that an issue? Sure M1s aren’t relevant but that’s not important. It’s not an M1 game.

Because it was the exception, which is why I was talking in present tense. Not past tense.

in what way is a leap different to just dodging? so thats irrelevant, i only ever oversimplified it so you understood my point. i can go into more detail if you want as to why this combat system is lacking.

“not and m1 game” thats single handedly the worst point you have made, “not an m1 game” but it has m1s? and clearly from the trello patchnotes it is since he revamped it so m1s would be actually useful (which i still think they wont be but ill have to see).

regardless of what tense you spoke in, it still shows that some things got removed because of how the combat operates. this combat isnt unique and its not really fun anymore at all because as stated before it makes builds have to be more limited and also makes any thing that does differ work worse. also this combat just doesnt work well in pve as well as it does in pvp. i could go on and on about why the combat is bad and you wouldnt care because you specifically like it and thats fine but lets not act like its good.

and in way am i saying because the combat is bad the entire game is bad im simply stating its the worst aspect of the game for me.

Reworked awakenings - Instead of being automatic, you can choose which one you get if you meet the requirements. Want a second magic instead of imbue on your weapons/magic character? Go right ahead. Picking that wouldn’t lock you out of Strength or Spirit.

There would be more options as well - maybe you want a mage that focuses entirely on one magic, there’d be options to get more power out of the magic you have. A weapon awakening that lets you focus on one specific weapon type, a strength awakening that would give you an even higher jump, anything you can think of, important thing is the options are available. Want to learn every fighting style? Just keep on picking up additional fighting styles. Got nothing else you want? Pick up more stat points.

There could be awakenings not tied to stats as well: want to play an alchemist? There’s an awakening for that. Maybe after completing some certain quests, you unlock new awakening options - tame animals and have them fight with you, for example.

A greater amount of awakenings per character would work well with this, so you could have awakenings core to your build and pick up some nice to have things as well. There would be some consumable that allows you to swap an awakening.

environmental storytelling instead of books

List of my stupid ideas I think would be cool

  • Mega servers with a cap of like 30-50 people
  • Dynamic capes and cloaks (pleaaaaaaaase vetex I NEED to aura farm :sob:)
  • Maybe slightly dynamic hair but I honestly have no clue how that would look, probably would be nice if it was slightly tho
  • Dodge reflexs recharging after like 5 seconds of being used - it’s not crazy speed like double dodge reflex was, while at the same time making combat smoother (I’m tired of having to jump up and down ) (also this would make the hover spell actually good)
  • Better underwater combat, rn it just feels kinda clunky since there’s no dodging (back to WoM ), I think it’d be better if it was like that one (non existent) game rell seas underwater combat system where instead all movement like dodging and attacks are kinda slow motion
  • This
  • Certain hot magics like fire and plasma should burn off dirt accumulation, also maybe light :man_shrugging:
  • Add an inventory sorting category that shows like, most recently found items, I can never find new update items in my inv bc how many items I got
  • this too, it’s like a whole list so I’ll just quote it here

Idk that’s all for now ig il add to it if I remember some more

didnt vetex do this somewhat recently as a test lol, it was kinda fun

planned :3

would be incredibly difficult to add and the performance would drop heavily, not even deepwoken (the most successful rpg on the platform) can do this

linkstrider oath in AO :fire:

fun to the game

That point is utterly stupid. A game mechanic existing does not mean the entire game was designed around it. For example, we have fishing in the game doesn’t mean it’s central to it or much thought as put into it.

There’s a high diversity of builds if you’re willing to experiment.

Speaking of invisible people I hope vetex adds a blackhawk utility lockheed martin helicopter so we can send fumes over the caitaran poverty ridden
