What’s something you would like to see in the game, but you know it’s not likely to be added (it would be hard to balance, it would take too much time etc.)
Raining frogs
a combat revamp. alot of people say “the combat is so unique” when its 2014 roblox fairy tale combat, jump aim shoot repeat. and if you’re about to get hit dodge or parry. a combat revamp akin to elden ring would actually be way cooler. or atleast make m1s do something (im sure they revamped m1s to be more useful on full release though)
npc ai rework so that you have to use strategy when fighting enemy npcs and not “bumrush oh wait hes too high level i gotta zone”
AA-style clashing for ults
Balanced builds
The combat is super fun you just need alot of skill for it
skill isnt a determining factor for if combat is good. i can name a catalogue of roblox games with skill that have terrible combat. its not fun for me, its outdated and even vetex said he would change it if it wasnt for people who are too attached to the combat now.
not really, its more based on who has the most braindead build, who uses the most potions, and who has more people in the fight. skill is rarely a factor in who will win anymore
Crafting equipment as a gameplay-wide pity mechanic to mitigate the RNG of chest/lost/sunken items alongside the complete removal of boss drop RNG.
It won’t ever make it into the game as the sole reason why it still has players is due to the very fact that it’s a glorified gambling simulator.
Karate getting added in FR
I’d argue it is because of the concept of the “skill floor”, the minimal amount of skill needed to be able to actually participate into all the intricate mechanics of the combat system. And most players I see in AO are far below said floor.
That argument can be applied to literally any game with multiplayer PvP. And anyone with a good amount of skill will outplay most if not all the “braindead” builds.
if you list all the combat systems in AO its like 4 and the most basics. block, parry, dodge and attack. Also because of how the combat is, anything unique is instantly less useful. its why berserkers have been kinda bad compared to mages, because the combat is all about distance, jumping up and down. You can barely ever involve m1s in this type of combat. he had to get rid of agility because it was too easy to run away because of how the mechanics behind the combat were. skill has nothing to do with how “good” a system is because every game has a skill floor. if most players you see in AO are below the skill floor what does that say?
if thats true why did agility get taken away. when you have combat that relies on jumping up and down and aiming its never gonna be as good as other games with more diversity in combat. ive played CC games with better combat.
Full release
free way to change magic, fighting style and spirit color variants
customizing weapons’ trail color is already free, so why not for all builds?
the combats fun but ao’s combat will be remembered as a bad, outdated combat style rather than an unique one that didn’t follow the standards of that time (m1 stun combat!!)
icl im not even a m1 stun combat enjoyer, its less to do with m1s and more just that the combat makes it hard for any uniqueness in builds or classes. the most unique classes are normally weapon builds and they cant be properly utilised because of the combat. agility got taken away because of how the combat is. berserker is one of the worst classes because of the combat. the list goes on. the combat is fun for like a bit. but most peoples gripes with AO that i talk to is always the combat.
Isn’t that a sign of the skill floor being too high
Races
Vetex said he wouldn’t but I think playing as an Atlantean Warlord or playing as a Siren Oracle would be quite cool (They were one of the reasons I enjoyed Rogue Lineage. Bro could even do the “Make changing it as hard as possible“, thing without it feeling weird since it’s the characters race)
Hot take but having a unique thing/ability about your character you can’t change is an idea I like but it falls flat when he tries does it with magic. Even then you can still go get Hecate Essence and change it anyways so it’s not really permanent. It’s why I kinda miss the culture system from WOM, it had untapped potential.
We could also use this to justify adding cool shit to lore. Having Elves and Demons or whatever with Greek mythological twists is a missed opportunity.
Each of those races having different progressions with different exp curves and requirements would also be icing on the cake. Different Race for a different type of player.
(Imagine being a new player and picking the PvP race that has forced PvP at level 1 it would be actually hilarious)
