Unusual individuals

During my time playing AO, I have encountered a few strange people that I would like to share the stories of.

The first encounter was when I arrived at Palo Town to see a single sailboat named “big gubbins” docked there. I found the presumed owner of the boat who proclaimed “I am Hesus” and attempted to turn the water in the fountain to wine. When that didn’t work he said “I am Hesus, watch this” and jumped into the sea, instantly dying to a shark.

The second encounter was with a pretty normal person that I did play with for an hour or two, but when I met him he introduced himself as “The shark wrestler” He lived up to the name however, as whenever we encountered a shark he would leap into the water and punch it to death. Understandably he was quite pleased upon finding out what bleeding potions do when thrown into water.

The third encounter was yesterday, and it seemed like a regular assassin player, showing up at sailor’s lodge and acting like he owns the place. I decided it would be best to avoid him at first and see what he did. He attacked the level 76 player there “as a joke” and when that other person didn’t get that directly attacking someone was apparently a joke he retaliated. The assassin got offended by this and then proceeded to take an unusually long time to kill someone almost 49 levels lower than him. Afterwards he attacked me, and before I could even do anything he combat logged.

The final encounter was today, and while it was generally a pretty normal level 73 person I question the behaviour of this guy. I showed up at sailor’s lodge with him shooting blasts at my ship, reducing its health by a massive 0.1%. When I was actually on the island he stood on my ship for several minutes while I was on the island. Then he walked up slowly behind me and hit me once with a sword before fleeing to the roof. It was at that point where he started attacking me with explosion spells that did barely any damage, except with each one he would fall into the sea and have to climb back out to attack me again. Eventually he found another player of similar level and started having a normal conversation as if nothing had happened.

If anyone else has had similar encounters with strange people like these, do share the stories.

Honestly, wouldn’t be all that out of place in the world of AO

I once met someone who was using cannonfist to destroy random people’s brigs that were just parked at palo town. Someone (I guess one of the brig’s owners) decided to try to find them and try to kill them. After looking for a while, they got annoyed so they asked in chat where they were. The cannonballer replied something along the lines of ‘You can’t find me because I’m fated to never be found by you’. They kept saying similar things for a few more minutes, while the other person kept trying to find them.
they got even more annoyed and decided to look a bit longer underwater, and they got oneshot by a megalodon.
The cannonballer also died shortly after that, but I have no idea what happened, since it was just the default death message.

The funniest part was that the cannonballer was literally just standing on the little raised up part that separates the 2 parts of palo town. They stood there, throwing cannonballs every now and then, for the entire time while that other person was busy looking around the entire island

Nobles. They are actors who got too into their role and lost their minds. Now they think they are pirates.

lmao that reminds me of one encounter I had the other day when I was playing with a friend

So we were leveling our warlock files and eventually got to Sailor’s Lodge. And there was one guy, I remember nothing about him tho. Also I forgor the reason why we did what we did.
Anyways we started blasting at him. He got on his ship and tried to sail away, but we kept blasting. He started blasting at us from his ship, then after some time he took the wheel and started shooting from cannons. It went on for a couple of minutes until he sailed away. I then came up to my friend and we were laughing about it, like imagine being a max level and getting bullied by some random low lvls.

that guy was max lvl, and we were around 60+.
