Many people like to dress their character up to have a unique appearance, but it’s hard to keep up with having good weapons at the same time. I propose making weapons a bigger and better part of a player’s theme by making them customizable.
I tried my hardest to not make this hard to implement, so here’s the idea:

Get the mold
To get the mesh for the weapon, buy a mold from a blacksmith, place it down like a decent seasoned giant meal, and hold Q for 2 seconds to sacrifice your weapon. For example, if you hold Q for 2 seconds near a mold holding a vindicator, your vindicator will disappear from your inventory, replaced with a “vindicator mold”.
Get the material
Most materials would come from breaking rocks. There would be a 10% chance of getting a smithing material from a rock and a 40% chance from a dark sea rock. The possible materials would be:
- Iron (grey metal)
- Zirconium (black metal)
- Bronze (orange metal)
- Gold (gold metal [yeah I know])
- Arcanium (whatever color your magic is)
- Copper (green metal [because it’s oxidized])
- Sunken element (blue metal [you actually don’t get this from rocks but it’s in the list])
Craft the weapon
There will be a new structure next to all blacksmiths that consists of a furnace and an anvil (which will replace just the cosmetic anvil). You will be able to interact with this anvil to pull up a weapon-crafting UI. It would look something like this:

How the creation works
The metal determines the attack color and the gem determines the aura color.
The mold determines what shape the weapon is (ex: vindicator mold gives the vindicator weapon shape) The higher the crafter’s jewel crafting level is, the more potent the aura color is.
How to make the textures
Creating all the textures for 54 weapon meshes would be relatively simple:
For each weapon, copy the texture and convert it to greyscale
then the texture would just change its color to the metal color
How to equip
to equip a crafted vanity weapon, you must go to the vanity tab. In the weapons subtab, all of your weapons would be replaced with vanity weapons (your weapons still exist in the stats tab). You can only equip a vanity weapon if you have a weapon of the same type (of your vanity weapon) equipped in the stats menu. Then, your crafted weapon would replace that weapon and its effects.

Thank you for reading my suggestion. This took a while (especially counting all the weapon textures), so I kindly ask you to consider my suggestion. This would be a really big and complex feature, so I don’t expect this to be added unless in a bigger update.
