Vetex should add impact frames in the future ( also added my speculation on the game)

Even if vetex decided to add finishers down the line which i think he did for fighting styles. He could just add cutscenes or impact frames for that as it doesn’t effect the gameplay.

same for combat in general as well

I think cutscene attacks (like grabs) could be some of the most flashy moves in AO tbh

I did mention this to Vetex, and he said it would mess with the flow of the game. But I think he might come around to it a lot later down the line, maybe.

Fair enough, I mean with game discussion it makes it better because it allows for more space for the community to well, discuss it.

Grabs in general need more love tbh

its funny the best part about grabs i think is a bug and its when 2 ppl grab eachother at the same time it looks like some dragon ball shit it goes hard

Actually my biggest issue with grabs is a lot of the time people seem to use them for the completely wrong reasons (like using rushdown as a faster crash substitute for mobility) which while that’s not an issue in a vacuum it kind of doesn’t promote the playstyle the move is actually trying to convey

Tbh I’m not sure how this issue would even be fixed besides just making grabs feel more rewarding or consistent

this is what i was trying to get across to vetex but i think he would have to revamp grabs which is why he denied the idea then because he just way more than enough on his plate alr. I really do think in the far future a grab revamp could be very possible especially with a bigger budget or maybe not even a revamp tbh I’m sure all of the grabs that come with lost/ancient tier will come with lots of cool VFX and art

I get what your saying, my input on this would be that grabs are very useful in pvp. but I think Vetex should def add some grab/finisher cutscenes. Well maybe, in my head it sounds epic for both pvp and pve that way.

I kind of had an idea for how grabs could be reworked a while ago and it was through giving people like a 2nd hp bar for some kind of “vulnerability” statistic that could be lowered if you landed grabs up until a point where the enemy would actually get command grabbed when the bar hit zero or below a certain threshold

This makes it so grabs are far more rewarding to land and it encourages a more close quarters playstyle
