Description: “A style that uses a unique sensing to target pressure points, greatly debilitating their opponents.”

Gimmick: Crippling debuff, disabled moves, status reduction

Obtainment:
Out on a random wilderness island you’ll find a wandering martial artist. Upon talking to her, she’ll initiate in combat thinking you are an enemy. She’ll move extremely quickly and target your pressure points, quickly neutralizing you. Your screen will fade to black before waking up next to a fire (yes cliche I know) where she apologizes for attacking you out of the blue. She explains that she sensed you weren’t there to fight after knocking you unconscious, so she nursed you back to health. You ask her how she was able to do all those movements and she explains that she invented a style known as Viper Style (probably green text in game or something) where she moves quickly and dispatches foes nonlethally by targeting their pressure points. You ask if you can learn the style and she hesitates for a moment, asking you if your sure. If you agree she’ll give you a medical journal and a quest to go help some injured people that she won’t be able to get to in time (due to her having more important matters to attend to). 3 markers will then be placed on your map for 3 of her patients, and you go to them and talk to them to mend their injury (one may have broken bones from a fall while working on construction, one may be a navy member with magic burns from their last fight, and the last could be a criminal who needs a splint or something). Upon returning to her, you’ll comment on how she has patients from all walks of life, and she’ll say something about how a doctor should not judge people based on what they’ve done or something idk, then she teaches you Viper Style. (90 strength requirement)

Stats:
1.35 speed
0.8 size
0.75 damage

Armor Stats:
75% Attack Speed, 25% Armor Piercing

Unique Status:
Constricted (Stackable up to 5 times, upon reaching 5 stacks it cannot be replenished and will drain the timer (though i think stackable statuses can’t be replenished anyway?)): Each stack decreases target mobility by 1% (up to 5% max, doesn’t stack with slowness), decreases usable energy regen by 2% (up to 10%), and at stacks 3 and 5 you disable 1 of the targets moves (2 moves total, cannot be an ultimate attack) 10 second duration.

Innate Utility:

  1. Instant dodge reflex

Visuals:
The fighting style visuals will appear like a translucent sage green aura on all attacks and imbues.

Inspirations/Comparisons
The styles stats itself were based on boxing especially the utilities part.

The idea behind the style is inspired by Chi Blocking from ATLA and the Gentle Fist from Naruto

the move disabling sounds op

its supposed to be a very gimmick-based fighting style, hence why i gave it 0.65x damage

for the move disabling, classes at 1 awakening are meant to have around 15-16 moves so its roughly an eighth of their total moveset

could be lowered on losts and maybe outright removed against ancient tier things

i thought this was poison but fighting style..

like how thermo is plasma but fs or ileg is metal but fs or powder is explosion but fs or sailor is water but fs or how vanishing is shadow but fs or how boxing is wind but fs

Juggernauts and paladins crying

i actually like the gimmick for this fighting style, it adds something unique and also reliable with certain builds, but i dont think its that strong, should maybe buff it a bit.

Generally not supposed to suggest trainers as those have heavy lore implications but I do like the niche this style fills at least. I assume the status is inflicted on every hit, though you don’t specify if proccing a stack resets the duration or not (would be on forever if it does). Overall cool idea, if a little overlapping with knocking fist, a base style that was at one point planned but either scrapped or being saved for later.

Has someone been playing blazblue?

3 relics with presumably 3-4 skills each on them - 9-12
strength/magic - 8

total: 20

only one would be knight but i think relic and regular weapons are getting separate slots so theyll be fine with like 3-4 of 5 or 6 different weapons being 15-24

ah yeah i forgot vetex likes giving random tidbits of lore to trainers and never talking about them again

Okay I don’t think you realze how insane 1.35x speed is, even Thermo is only allowed to have 1.3x

did you see the other stats? its a trade-off

thermo is high damage high speed, this is insane speed low damage

Thermo has 0.75 dmg, where u got high dmg from?

The seared debuff that does 20% dmg on top of the 0.75 dmg (as long as you manage your meter)

I guess shes not actually that good at sensing if she only figures out your intent after she ko’s you.

I like this idea, but isn’t this also kinda just the idea for knocking fist but reskinned?

that’s still only 0.9 SOMETIMES so the average is close to 0.8

In the future I definitely don’t recommend giving exact stat numbers on fighting styles as that tends to cause a lot of drama. I actually made a whole forum guide about this mostly for myself that really just goes over all the important details for making a good fighting style suggestion with an included template based on my experience.

i didn’t know what that was lol, i havent really gotten into the vetex community until the start of AO and even then its probably only been a year since ive been making an effort, in AA i didnt really get that far and just kinda quit playing, in WoM i played a lot but i wasn’t too big of a discord user so i didnt really know what all of the planned leaks or stuff were

lol, i was imagining it was more out of instinct

obviously the whole trainer idea is just how it could go, but if it would be a fight id imagine more of a cutscene thing because of how fast she’d knock you out

.1-.25x is a lot

also all of the fighting styles are in the range of .7-.95 damage, so not only would this be the least damaging fighting style (0.05x behind cannonfist without using good quality cannonballs) but it also ties thermo with the least amount of size and is only the fastest by .05x (thermo is 1.3) and .15x for boxing

really the stats are lackluster so they may need a buff if anything, just didnt know how people would react to so many passives and the status so i intentionally made them lackluster

Finally a fighting style idea that isn’t dog dodo.
