“For the next update Vitality will be functionally reworked. Investing into the stat will no longer grant HP nor reduce your damage, and spirit abilities will no longer drain HP. Instead, dealing damage with a Rite or Spirit-Imbued Attack will grant HP-over-Time. As a consequence imbuing Spirit Energy will decrease damage as any imbue with a special status would.
The status would not stack, not be affected by Regen, and would scale slightly off of Vitality (as well as scaling a large amount off level so it isn’t useless at higher levels). Currently whether it should scale off damage in some way is still up for debate but the current answer is no. This is a low-commitment answer though and could potentially change if necessary (if it doesn’t there will be a threshold).
This removes any issues created by the current system and creates more parity with other builds as Vit becomes a fully fleshed-out build, as well as feeling more intuitive and rewarding rather than awkward and punishing.
For anyone crying that the mere concept of heal-over-time lifesteal is gamebreaking how about I break your skull instead cuz I swear there is absolutely nothing you can add to this game anymore without getting this response.”
Size will just be whatever it needs to be for balance reasons, if the size can still stay boosted then go for it, and yeah synergies will stay (idk what u meant by status effects cuz currently they give none).
Yeah but it’s not health in the videogame sense. IRL “health” is probably more similar to regen and being over to overcome sicknesses/injuries than it is about raw survivability.
