Walyn's Guide to Mining

So, you’ve been playing Arcane Odyssey for a while, you got your foods, your brews, your jewels, but did you know that the bounty of the earth is waiting for you? That’s right, there is a secret fourth profession - Mining!

To unlock Mining, you need to go to Ravenna. You want to know why it is called the Bronze Sea? It is because they mine a bunch of bronze there! Anyways, look around, feel free to complete some quests, and eventually you’ll find your way to the Eternal Mines. You will be given an introductory quest for the Mining profession. Finally, you will find it…

Your very first pickaxe! Thankfully, unlike shovels, the game will let you start out at Bronze, so it will only take you 4 hits to mine rocks. Now, what you do is find a rock with ores and mine it!

Once you get them ores, turn them in to the Mining Trainer for some valuable experience. Now then, you’re only supposed to mine once more for ore for the introductory quest, but if you’re willing to flagrantly exploit bugs to gain an advantage over other players make clever use of game mechanics, there’s a fun trick you can do. Once you mine the second ores, before you go and talk to the Pale Woman, turn in your ores!

See? No ores in my hand like normally on the quest, already turned them in! The real magic happens after you talk to the Pale Miner here:

Bingo, free ores. You’ll be leaving the Eternal Mines with 50% more Mining experience than most other players. The Mining Master is sure to be impressed by your effectiveness!

That concludes this tutorial on Mining, and how to get ahead and mine the most ores so you can stand out with an impressive rock collection!

PvP and Mining

As an aside, I really can’t wait for the PvP toggle. One time I saw a bunch of freaks show up and kill everyone in the Eternal Mines! Can’t they just let us mine in peace? Of course not, they have to inflate their kill counts. Two of them were even abusing a custom magic we normal players can’t get our hands on, how lame!

Okay buddy, if you’re such a mining expert (and you’re probably an expert at best, there’s no way you’ve unlocked Master Miner yet), post your Mining Journal.

i doubt hes even a miner at this point

No, he’s right. Bronze is an alloy of copper and one other substance. Usually tin, though aluminum, nickel, and other substances are also used sometimes.

It’s the Bronze Sea, not the Copper and Tin Sea.

It’s actually quite strange how a common-place feature such as mining hasn’t been introduced into the game.
I mean, it could have plenty of applications.
