Warlock damage is simply bad?

So I am running an explosion thermo fist warlock, for those juicy free petrifies and damage buff, and I’ve found the damage just kinda bad?
I have
100 magic
150 strength
119 power

And my uncharged magic blasts deal 226 damage, meanwhile my uncharged shots do 175 at 3 times the cooldown. Now I know thermo fist is the “fast attack speed” fighting style so it probably has a reduction to damage, but then still I after petrify and charred buffing my damage every hit in a combo is only like 200 damage. And I could have just gone mage, spammed all my spells in a similar manner, and would have just done more than that.
Just feels like the splitting of stats and the damage drop from imbuements makes you worse than if you went for a pure build.

The only viable warlock build is probs crystal iron leg. Deal 400+ dmg per smash + bleed. Since you get crystalllized and have iron leg, it proc instantly. Iron leg also provide bleed…and bleed let crystallized effect do more dmg during bleed

I don’t think that’s the case. Shots are literally just beams, which deals less damage than blasts. If you’re going to compare blasts to a technique, crash or axe-slash might be the ones that’ll get you similar damage.

Part of the reason for this odd feeling is that awakened berserkers get a +10% bonus to fighting styles if I remember right. So the fighting styles are kinda worse off for hybrid builds until the balance changes.

Warlock builds are more centered around status effect interactions than pure damage.
My Acid Thermo Warlock can do over 400 damage with 1 100% size + power focus + 100% heat + charged with around 40 Power and base Intensity from Argos armor, helm and leggings. I can confidently say that it can go over 500 on a player since there’s also overheating to take into consideration.

I main a poison warlock (iron leg) so I don’t really worry too much abt the dmg but what really hinders me is that the end animation of every move is slow as hell. Not only does this make me a sitting duck to everything else, it sometimes makes me try to dash too early as I can’t tell if the actions finished and I end up hopping a bit to the side in the crater I just made like an idiot. That plus the focus on mid to close range combat, warlock especially requires insane skill to actually be mid viable in pvp. Or maybe I’m just having a huge skill issue rn. Also I kinda wish that the fighting moves would leave ur magic effects like puddle of Magma or poison clouds etc but ig that would be asking for too much lol. Ye warlock needs a buff.
