i have a warlord slot and i need help on selecting a loadout. i’ve been trying different weapons lately but just can’t find something that i can stick to. what’s a good loadout suggestion? preferably including the lion’s halberd (and if included, which skill notes should i use with it?)

Well u can bide your time for full release… u get at least 3 new weapon options and 2 new fighting styles which might change warlord meta completely
Yes that rusty zweihander is going to be very strong with severe bleeding, and if that is true then thermo and powder fist wouldn’t be good to pair them with it.
I would say vanishibg style would be good but we don’t know how it interacts with sensing

Personally i really enjoy playing with colossal gs, halberd and musket (at least for basic combat)
but if you want to think in the future, i may consider lance of loyalty for the sparrow thrust, and the colossal bow to use rain of arrows + bow breaker
im considering rusty, bow and that maw thing… i want to use cjudgement but oh well see how good maw is
Boxing is extremely good, and you can’t go wrong with basic.
Basically don’t use cfist, and that’s the only 5 existing fighting styles, there aren’t any others
Warlord Breakdown
Sailor Style
- Arguably the best option for FS.
- Good size and speed neutral.
- Requires bar management.
- Excellent armor, making it budget-friendly if needed.
Basic
- High damage output.
- Fully neutral—lets you spec size or speed.
- Comes with Bleed 2 and eventually Severe Bleeding.
- Doesn’t require any bar.
Boxing
- Fast.
- Provides blocking power passive.
- Neutral size.
- Applies regular bleed (weaker DOT).
- lower damage output
Armor: I’m running SpeedBasic and I really like it. Ideally though, consider:
- Boxing with 40–50 Size and the rest into Speed
- Or Sailor with size focus (Sailor FS armor makes a good cheap build easy)
- Basic let’s your run any armor build you want
Strategy
Combos and Gameplay
Aggressive close range combos
- Start with Crash (Tip: switch weapons mid-Crash to ensure the new weapon equips in time)
- Follow up with a mix of:
- Shining Cycle
- Whirlwind
- Rising Tide
- Shockwave (double if on a fast fs)
These moves synergize well with FS choices and allow follow up.
- Start with rushdown (with a downward finisher) or piercing strikes
- Use a downward attack or a large AOE:
- devsatate
- Smash(double if on fast fs)
This is your go to grab combo, its a free 500 damage with little room for punishment.
For more Passive longer range fights
- Start with a grab or crash
- the goal is not to hit this but more to get into range of your opponent so you can land ranged attacks and shot (use it for mobility)
- maintain the range
- Sparrow thrust if they get too close (or if you get too close and you see an opening)
- Easy shots and flying slashes
- backdash is your friend
This is necesarry if your opponent stat checks you can you can’t outdps then
** Weapon**
Primary
- Use any weapon with a large movepool
- dagger (mobility and damage but weaker cqc)
- sword (probably the best for this role)
- dual swords (weaker option than swords, but very drippy and has a leap)
Ranged Utility
- Consider a staff or gun for ranged pressure:
- Gun: high damage Piercing Shot and its m1
- Staff: midrange Sparrow Thrust, and mobility with Knocking Blitz

Halberd
- Pair with Ardent
- use Crushing Judgment when you have the height advantage
Colossal Greatsword
- Use Bursting
- Key moves: CCleave, Whirlwind, and other AOE options
Lance
- Avoid until full release
- When viable, go with:
- Sparrow
- Annihilation
- Cycle
- Pstrikes
